Are You Making The Switch From Coffee Maker to Instant Organic Coffee?

Have you given up your old coffee pot and made the switch to drinking organic instant coffee? Maybe you have not switched yet but are considering doing so? Or maybe you are just looking for a good instant organic coffee recommendation. On this page, learn a bit more about the reasons to drink organic instant coffee and find a reputable online source for buying your own organic instant coffee.

I was given this page by online friend Darcie and set off to learn more about instant organic coffee. As with many food-related health issues, the answers are not always crystal clear. Please take this information as a guide to help you decide whether or not instant organic coffee is for you. And, if you are already sold on instant organic coffee, be sure to let us know about it.

Please note that I am not in any sense a medical professional. As a matter of fact, I do not even drink coffee, but my husband does. I hate cleaning his coffee pot and often wonder about the health implications of his coffee ritual. (I drink tea, which has its own concerns.)

"You won't believe this is instant coffee! " ~ Amazon customer L.W. Gigi about Mount Hagen organic instant coffee

Mount Hagen Organic Freeze Dried Instant Coffee

Mount Hagen Organic Freeze Dried Instant Coffee is Darcie's favorite instant organic coffee. After reading the extremely favorable Amazon customer reviews I could understand why.

Amazon customer myoho guy had this to say about Mount Hagan organic instant coffee, "I like freshly-ground, brewed coffee, but sometimes I'm in a hurry and just want a reasonable facsimile that looks, smells, and tastes like it and delivers my morning cup of coffee."

Myoho guy performed a test between Mount Hagen and Nescafe Taster's Choice, his ordinary instant coffee brand. Summarizing, he gave the edge for aroma to Mt. Hagen. With regard to taste, he said the result was close but he gave the win to Mount Hagen for richer flavor and fuller body. Nescafe won the challenge for convenience and affordability. And, when it came down to ecofriendliness, he thought the organically-grown Mount Hagen product would be ahead until he factored in the fact that it travels to North America from Germany. In the end, he gave the win to Mount Hagen, because it had a "slightly richer flavor and it's organically grown."

I do buy organic coffee and fair trade coffee but not the instant type. I prefer freshly brew (I have a neat system to brew only one cup at a time). Yes it cost more, but I think it's worth it.

Interesting topic. I'm not a coffee drinker and my husband prefers to use his two-cup coffee maker, but having instant organic coffee on hand might be a really good idea since it does get such great reviews.
  • Joan4 Nov 21, 2011 @ 6:23 am | delete
I do use the convenient Nescafe instant coffee tubes for my afternoon coffee. I did not realize organic instant is available.
  • stargazer00 Nov 20, 2011 @ 5:22 pm | delete
My husband is the coffee drinker and I don't know if he'd go for instant. The only way I drink coffee is if it has a lot of "stuff" in it, like at Starbucks. I'm sure organic instant coffee will appeal to a lot of people though.
  • Treasures-By-Brenda Nov 20, 2011 @ 8:43 am | delete
I guess I should have known that there was such a thing as organic instant coffee. I will admit that I never thought of it before.
