By growing your own organic fruits and vegetables you can lower that ever-expanding food budget.

A package of organic seed costing about $2 could easily yield 50 half lb to 1 lb tomatoes. To purchase this many tomatoes from the grocery store at $1.99 per pound would cost you anywhere from $50 to $100.

The savings are amazing!

What About Pesticides?

The more scientists learn the effects of pesticides on human health, the more grim the results are.

A common mistake that most people make is believing they can wash these pesticides off, but the reality is that if chemicals ore used from the time the seed is planted, then the chemicals are present through the life of the plant from seedling to fruit to seed. This would be like spraying an apple with Raid and then washing it off. Would you eat that?

The picture above right is my first attempt at organic companion gardening. Tomatoes are in the middle, lettuce is in a U shape around the base of the tomatoes and basil along the other side. Looks pretty good!

I used all organic seeds and used the companion planting technique this year and I haven't had to use a drop of any kind of fertilizer or bug/weed killer. My veggies look like the ones you see in magazines. I even compared mine to the Amish who sell vegetables in our town and mine were twice as tall and healthy compared. Companion planting is amazing.
