If you are like me than you love potatoes...cooked, baked, fried, just about any way you can cook a potato! They are just so yummy!! Here is a basic recipe for potato soup. You can add just about anything to this to spice it up a little, but if you want something simple yet tasty you can leave it as it is! I will add some variations to the bottom of the recipe!

The Original and Basic Potato Soup

There's not much else to say except it's so yummy!

(Recipe for a family of four-you will have left overs!)

Ingredients:

6 potatoes
1-2 cups of milk
1 stick of butter or margarine (butter tastes better)
salt and pepper

Here's what to do:
Start a large pot of water boiling. While waiting on the water to boil, peel, rinse, and chop potatoes into cubes. Boil potatoes for around 15 minutes or until soft. Strain, melt butter in the same large pot adding the milk slowly. Pour in potatoes and add salt and pepper to taste. Heat until hot, serve with crackers.

Variations:
You can add Velveeta Cheese for a cheesier soup.
Ham if you like to eat meaty soups, you can also add carrots, celery, or onions. Try adding a combination of a few of those listed above. I also like to add cream of mushroom soup. It makes the soup creamier and gives it just a hint of mushroom flavor!

Have fun cooking!

There's a Potato Leek Soup at different locations in Walt Disney World in Orlando that is my absolute favorite food on earth. We had it at the Biergarten in the German pavilion at Epcot's World Showcase. Could've been the atmosphere of course, but I had 3 bowls of it, and felt like I was on a cloud when we left (and no, I didn't drink that day!).
