Let's say we need to add a few new pages to the site and we know we want to add these new pages / text links to a footer: If the site has three hundred pages and has not used an 'include' file for the footer, we will be updating EACH page of the web site by hand!
An include file allows you to edit ONE file and update the entire web site. It is the difference of 2 minutes as opposed to HOURS of updates.

Once you've published that pretty and shiny new web site, you need to tell the world about it! Generating an XML sitemap is easy and serves as a feed directly to Google, MSN or Yahoo. You can find an online sitemap generator by simply googling xml site map creator. Once you've created your web site site map and uploaded it to your web server, you will need to tell the search engines that you've done so.... In Google, you simply create an account and sign up for Google Web Master tools, MSN and Yahoo have something similar as well. Now that this part is handled, you should create an HTML sitemap for your web site visitors: simply create a page with each link and link your sitemap off of your footer.
