"One of the finest young violin talents of the day" as recognized by the legendary pianist György Sándor, hungarian violinist Orsolya Korcsolán is quickly establishing herself as a dynamic recital soloist, versatile chamber musician and innovative music educator.

At age 12, Orsolya was admitted into the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music Budapest, where she enrolled in the program "Exceptional Talents' Class" and later she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts Degree. Ms. Korcsolan moved to the United States to study at The Juilliard School in New York where she was one of the last students of the legendary pedagogue Dorothy DeLay and studied subsequently with Itzhak Perlman and Masao Kawasaki and holds a Master of Music Degree.

Orsolya had appeared in festivals throughout the world: Budapest, Jerusalem, Sapporo, Orford, Kuala Lumpur and Schleswig-Holstein. As concert and recital soloist Ms. Korcsolán has performed in Austria, Canada, England, France, Hungary, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico and the United States. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Korcsolán also collaborated with artists such as the solo clarinet player Peter Schmiedl and concertmaster Rainer Küchl of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ms. Korcsolan has been an advocate of jewish music since her childhood and has been captivating audiences in the most prestigious Synagogues throughout Hungary: in Szeged, Zalaegerszeg, the Dohány Street and the Újpest Synagogue. As guest artist shared the stage with leading eastern european cantors of our time. On her debut CD "Mosaic" she recorded jewish master pieces for violin and piano with Judit Kertész.

After performing Mozart's G-Major Violin Concero for Sir Georg Solti at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival at the age of 16 in Germany, Orsolya received an invitation to play in his Carnegie Hall Orchestra. She served as a concertmaster of the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Sapporo, Japan, of the Shira International Symphony Orchestra in Jerusalem, Israel, as principal violinist of the Juilliard Symphony in New York and of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra in Germany. Ms. Korcsolán performed under the batons of such distiguished conductors as Sir Georg Solti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, André Previn, Michael Tilson Thomas, Pierre Boulez, Sir Neville Marriner, Christoph Eschenbach, Kees Bakels ,Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Valery Gergiev and Semion Bichkov.

While in New York, Orsolya Korcsolán won the Dorothy DeLay Scholarship Award as well as the Cornelius Vander Star Scholarship Award. She was a winner of the Scholarship of the American Joint Foundation Hungary. Ms. Korcsolan was the second prize winner of the "Zathureczki Ede Memorial Competition" and received the special prize for the best performed contemporary performance piece. She is a founder of the highly-praised educational program "Illustrated Chamber Performance Series" at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where she leads the MPO Chamber Players. She has given presentations to children and conducts master classes for violin students in Malaysia.
