Countertop convection ovens are for everyone.
When I had to replace my old toaster oven, I decided to go with one that has the convection cooking capability. I had it in mind that when it was time to decide on a new stove and oven that I would get one that was a convection oven. I wanted to learn to cook using this method and this would be a good introduction to it. I have been very pleasantly surprised with the results. This is my review of the Oster Countertop Oven, model # 6081.
Why this model of convection oven?
In the range of countertop ovens, the model I selected was a smaller unit in size compared to most standard countertop ovens. The primary reason is that I have limited counter space available for this appliance. I had no idea if I would like using the convection method of cooking; but I knew this would answer most questions I had before it was time to think about getting a new stove and oven. It answered my question about using convection cooking. I got a lot more out of this countertop oven that I ever anticipated. I've been very happy with the product.
I gave the convection oven a thorough evaluation!
Before I really got into the convection cooking mode, I made a decision to try out all aspects of the oven. First, I started with the toaster mode. My toaster hadn't been making very good toast for some time. (Why do we hang on to appliances after their usefulness wears off?) I made toast in the oven and was delighted with the results. I really liked the way it toasted...nice and crunchy! The old toaster promptly when in the trash. That meant a little extra counter space was freed up.
These are some Oster convection ovens for the countertop.
The broiler function on the convection oven worked very well.
Next came the broiler setting. I fixed my version of Jamaican chicken. Again, it performed admirably. One aspect of using the countertop oven over the regular oven is that I don't like having to bend over so far to watch the foods under the broiler. Secondly, it was easier to clean. I don't cook large portions of food at one time, so the limited size of the oven doesn't make any difference to me. If I cooked for a large family...this model size would not be your best choice. Tomorrow I will fix ribs under the broiler for my Saturday afternoon football game.
Avoid the spills in your oven.
Pizza Stones are just the right size for your countertop oven.
Cooking Tip:
Shallow pans are best for convection cooking.Use regular baking method when baking in a dish with high sides because the oven air can't circulate around the food very easily.
I was wondering....
Here are some other convection oven models.
It's easy to get accustomed to convection cooking.
Learning to cook using the convection method requires a little time to adjust the cooking times and temperatures. Many food recipes will give you appropriate times and temperatures for this method; but I have found it sometimes takes a few trial times to get the correct times and temperatures. I have learned to adapt and adjust my cooking times fairly well. Two days ago I baked my favorite bread in the oven. It turned out great. It isn't as big of a deal as I previously thought it would be. I use my countertop convection oven for about 90% of all my baking needs. It does all operations with good results. I really recommend this type of oven for everyone.

Update on my convection oven!
I've owned my oven for almost a year now and thoroughly enjoy using it. I find cooking in it much more enjoyable than cooking in a pan on the stove. I have converted many every day food recipes to the convection oven. It only takes just a few extra minutes but the results are always better.

- Mines old and I need to replace it but I have limited space in my kitchen and I want one that mounts under a cabinet. They don't make them. It's still hanging on.

- We bought a new toaster oven (convection oven) a couple of months ago. I love it. I don't have to heat up the big oven to bake a couple of chicken breasts or heat up a pizza.
