    Morganville Vampires was a really good series....you will just fall in love with the characters.

    you should read Anita Blake, the vampire hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton-lots of sarcasm, action, mystery, blood, sex and, of course, sexy vampires, shapeshifters etc.

    I've read many many series about vampire over the past a several years. Some of my favorites are twilight(obviously)house of night is amazing once you get In to it. the following books are adult and I wouldn't recommend anyone under 15 read them- black dagger brotherhood- southern vampire series, now a series called true blood which is better than the books-my personal favorite is the dark hunter series,

    Katie's Hellion (and the equal) by Lizzy Ford is very similar to twilight in a lot of ways. One of only two books that I've ever read that I've wished would be turned into a movie.

    Here is a little about the book.
    Blood Whisper, the suspenseful love story of a vampire Christian and hunter Salisha takes place in a world where the human race has surrendered all power to the vampire species. The less wealthy and middle class humans are sold as slaves or captured and sent to blood banks where they are harvested like fruit. Salisha meets Christian after being captured. He takes a special interest in her and things grow from there. Being a single prince and devilishly handsome, Luna a vampiress of her own line takes a interest in him as well. When it becomes apparent her advances are unwanted. She quickly works to eliminate any competition, including Salisha. When the woman he loves goes missing, Christian sets out on a journey to find her.

    Not expert for vampire romances, but I can recommend great SF and horror author Dan Simmons, who wrote a lot of great short stories related to the subject. Lovedeath (collection) comes to my memory right now, but I think his whole opus is worth checking.

    vampire diaries is AMAZING.. i started watching vampire diaries.. but i wanna read the series too.. because im literally obsessed wid vampires at the moment.. my favourite are dimitri (vampire academy) and damon (vampire diaries) .. trust me, when you start reading/watching vampire diaries you'll totally forget about twilight's edward!

    i read the twilight saga and of course is at the top of my list..but not far down would have to be the mortal instrument series by cassandra claire followed by her new series the infernal devices...love these books so far i have read the first 3(city of bones)(city of ashes)(city of glass) and am on the 4th city of fallen angels now...have already read the first to her new infernal devices(clockwork angel) and i am so stocked for her new one to be released on december 6th (clockwork prince)she has many more relaeses to come with both series and are very stoked.their is also a movie comming out next year of these books...she is not recognized enough and think more people should give her a read!these books rock for the young adult and adults as well

    I recently read 'Blood Feud' & it was simply amazing, it had action as well has romance & just a touch of spice. The first thing I thought of when reading this book was that it wouldn't compare to twilight but into the 1st chapter I was blown away by how similar it was & yet it didn't feel like just another copy of Stephanie Meyer`s hit series.I highley recomend this book in particular from this series.

    I loved the whole series of Twilight. I had a friend who tried to get me to read them for years, after I finally did, I couldn't put them down! Now I just finished reading, "A Discovery of Witches." It was amazing! It is a MUST read. Not meant for children. YOU WILL LOVE IT! I PROMISE!!

    i've read a lot of books! But after i read vampire academy i felt that no other book was that good! That book is really awesome! But i can tell you some other books you can read!
    - Evernight Academy - Claudia Gray
    - The immortals - Alyson Noel ( this is not a vampire book exactly but is a veeery good book!! )
    -House of Night - P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
    - Vampire Kisses - Ellen Schreiber ( this one is more about the old idea of the vampires, sleeping in coffins and all that, but they're very good books and they've a lot of humor too )
    - L.J. Smith - The vampire Diaries
    - Unearthly - Cynthia Hand ( i haven't read this book yet, it came out not to long ago, but the critics said that is a really good book )

    I'd check out the Pact Arcanum (http://pactarcanum.com) series by Arshad Ahsanuddin - the first book is called Sunset.
    It's a vampire novel that has a heavier focus on war than the Twilight series, but still has romantic elements as well. They're great books.

    I have read all the vampire academy books several times. I found them gripping and really good and I couldn't put them down. They are now one of my favourite series, due to the good plot and the personalities of the character.

    the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead which are Awwsome.
    Evernight series by Claudia Gray -Awwsome.
    Unearthly by Cynthia Hand - Awwsome
    Halo by Alexandra Adornetto - Awwsome
    What other books are similar to these ones? These all have the same type of story line ; the whole forbidden romance with the supernatural twists. cheers

    I'm going to suggest "A Discovery of Witches." It has Vampires and Witches and Daemons. And a Vampire and a Witch fall in love....check out a sample on kindle!

    The Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Niell are amazing, seriously! If you want to read about vampires, then they're a really good choice-So far, there are about three, and there's a fourth coming out in may! I fell in love with this series! <3 ..There are another series called The Dark Elite series by Chloe Niell-again-which isn't really about vampires as much, but they are in the book. It's about a girl who goes to a boarding school and meets a group of students that have these powers-she finds out that she has powers too-and they all fight monsters who suck the life out of people..Really REALLY good! Look both of the series up and I promise you will love them! :D

    Oh boy, if you liked the Twilight series you should read The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Claire! She is an amazing writer and just as good as Stephanie Meyers. The first book in the series is City of Bones followed by City of Ashes and City of Glass. Now these books also involve vampire hunters and wolves but don't let that stear you away they are just as captivating as the Twilight series.

    I think "Twilight" can be a classic vampire movie, no others can be compared with it in story plot and more importantly, in amazing cast.

    I love the Kelley Armstrong books, recommend them every time, starting with Bitten. Her younger ones are good too but Bitten is the place to start! She has a website that you can read extracts from, I am hooked! Great lens by the way, love the theme! :)

    My neighbor got me hooked on the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris, which is now on HBO as the True Blood series. The HBO series is quit different from the books but really good. Then she got me hooked on the Twilight Saga and we're now reading other vampire theme books, so don't feel alone!

    Also, after finishing House of night series I didnt want to wait until January to start the next book, i started to read the Vampire Academy series and I have to say its a tie or it might be better than house of night! It was a really good read! I was sad to see it end. She will be doing a spin off using 4 or 5 of the characters from the Vampire Academy series but I honestly wish she would have kept going! The series is a must read!

    I was the same way you were. I read all 4 Twilight books in about a week and could not get enough. Since then I have read a series by Alyson Noel, Evermore-Blue Moon-Shadowland-Dark Flame and Night Star-the next book will come out summer of 2011. My next series that I just could not put down was the House of Night series by PC Cast and Kristen Cast. There are 7 books out now and the 8th book will come out Jan. 4th, 2011. Thanks so much for this post it gave me some ideas on my next books to start!!!

    I loved Fred Saberhagen's vampire series, beginning with "An Old Friend of the Family." Not so much a romance, per se, but the vampire is the good guy in these books, which is a total turn about from most vampire stories.

    There's a new vampire series coming out next summer - Twilight meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the Angels of the Night: Discovery - sounds like a another awesome book, can't wait for it to come out

    I am 31yrs old, also with a 13yr old daughter. We both loved the Twilight Series. After I re-read the series, listened to them on audiobook, and read Midnight Sun....lol...I turned to Stephanies' The Host. It is a GREAT read. I followed that up with The House of Night series(which can be repetitive at times), but I could not put them down. I would strongly suggest this series.
    Thankyou for your suggestions, as I am currently looking for my next book series love affair...lol. I am halfway thru Vampire Acadamy book 1.

    Rosella Book 1: Forbidden Love by S. E. Cox... It's a very cute book.

    House of the Night novels are very I not sure if there is a word that discribes them. I strongly disliked them. Zoey was annoying.

    "Angels of the Night: Discovery" is a vampire romance - check out the website at www.theangelsofthenight.com - series is not slated to hit the shelves until next summer but the author has a short excerpt on her blog that you should check out.

    The Vampire Academy books are seriously nothing like Twilight exept that they're vampires. My opinion is that The Vampire Academy is more... tougher than Twilight. Not so cheezy love but more reality, but still not. I recommend it anyway! (The Vampire Academy)

    after reading the twilight saga, which i could not put down after reading the first chapter i have become quite hooked on vampire books. After looking around for a book with a few more to go with it, i came across House of The Night by p.c and kristin cast there are four books in total and room for another one which i cant wait for. just started Vampire Acadamy hoping its going to be as good as the others. Hope you enjoy the recomendation just as much as i did

    I LOVE Vampire Academy.
    It shows love, friendship, sadness,strength, and more.
    Richelle Mead is the best writer i know.
    I read lots of book and if you like twilight you will LOVE the vampire Academy books.
    I have only got up to Blood Promise but that is only because i live in England and Spirit Bound itsnt out yet.
    I think everyong should try them book.

    yall are missing THE best author on vampire romance! Kerrelyn Sparks has written some amazing books called the 'love at stakes' series. Starting with 'how to marry a millionaire vampire' the romance between 500somthing roman and mortal shanna, and the books just keeps coming (my favorite being the undead next door) :) the books are all connected but can allso be read seperatley and out of order - but best read in the right order! R-rated ;)
