I almost feel as if I am addicted to Headaches!
I use to have a headache just about everyday. I always have, ever since I was in my early twenties. I went to a "Headache Center" and spent months with them running different test on me, and one day I said: This stops here!
So I am going to share a few things I have found that have worked for me, in dealing with my headaches and some cases easing them to a point where they do not hurt as bad.
I hope you will find something useful in this that may help you too if you suffer with headaches daily.

Natural Healing Methods for Headaches

Temple Headaches
If you work with essential oils, try mixing a little rosemary and lavender oil together.
Sit and relax and lightly begin to rub the oil onto your temples. Close your eyes and relax. Take a deep breathe and inhale the scent of the rosemary and the lavender. Continue to rub the oil on your temples and you should be able to feel a difference within a few minutes.
There are many causes for headaches!
A run down on Migraines...
I found a great site that speaks indepth about MSG and all of the ways it is hidden in the foods we eat. I will post that right below this module. I know from my experience at the Headache Center about MSG being a strong cause of my migraines!
A migraine headache is a severe pain felt on one, and sometimes, both sides of the head. The pain is mostly in the front around the temples or behind one eye or ear. Besides pain, you may have nausea and vomiting, and be very sensitive to light and sound. Migraine can occur any time of the day, though it often starts in the morning. The pain can last a few hours or up to one or two days.
Blood vessel vasoconstriction and inflammation are implicated in migraines and are also caused by ingestion of MSG. If I ingest MSG I feel it first thing in my jaws, and within an hour I get a pain in the back of neck that goes up my head. When that happens, the only thing I can do is ride it out. I do not take prescription drugs any longer, so I use arnica gel for the back of my neck and ice packs for the rest of my head. I try to avoid sunlight and loud sounds.
I hope there is something in this lens that you find will help you in some way with your headaches. I will be updating this lens often, so keep checking back.
This is what happened in my case!
To read the full content please go to HBP-High Blood Pressure It was in February that I found out I had High Blood Pressure and that because I have Heredity Hypertension I will have to take meds the rest of my life. The doctor told me that no matter what I tried to do, me developing HBP was a matter of time. Since I have been working on controlling my HBP, my headaches have just about disappeared!
Do not get me wrong, I still have them but not every single day. So the next time you go to the store that has a blood pressure machine, if may be something you may want to look at. To be very honest, I did not know that my headaches were caused from my blood pressure being elevated. But once I was diagnoised I have been doing a lot of research. You will be surprises how many wonderful things you can find out just by typing a couple words in Google Search. Update-July 18, 2008
On the link above "Hidden Sources" they have listed that Aspartic acid, found in Aspartame (NutraSweet), ordinarily causes MSG type reactions in MSG sensitive people.
At the time I was writing this lens, I was drinking Diet Soda, and it seemed everyday my headaches were getting more intense. So I stopped drinking diet soda and my headache pain has eased up A LOT.
If you are a Diet Soda person and are having more intense headaches, stop drinking them and see if your headache pain eases.

- I completely agree that taking too much asprin for headaches can cause headaches. I grew up in a "headache family" we would go throught a giant size bottle of excedrin a week...excedrin is even worse because it has caffeine which can really stoke a headache. It was a normal part of life to down the pills several times a day because I always had a headache. Finally in my 20's I read about rebounding and realized that I was addicted to headaches! I tried everything, vitamins, herbs, oils, homeopathy...energy healing is the only thing that works for me. I used to have acupuncture and that worked great, but now I do my own energy healing and rarely have a headache.
Great useful lens...5*

- I stumbled upon this website and I am so happy! I have been having headaches for roughly 2 months now. At least every 2 days, many times every day. I have gone to my doctor and my dentist every week with no solution in sight. I would love to try to get rid of my headaches naturally but sometimes it just hurts so much that I head to the medicine cabinet. My headaches start at my temples then procedure to my jaw and my teeth also hurt. Any help that anyone can give me is greatly appreciated.

- Well, I am only 13 years of age, and sometimes find myself in a situation where a headache is coming on. It isnt fun at all. Personally, I think people should use natural ways to get rid of headaches, instead of medication. Did you know that there is a type of headache called a rebound headache? it is caused by taking your headache medication to often. It can only go away for good if you stop taking that medication altogether! Something I find helpful to get rid of a headache is to smell inside a bag of vinager chips, or eating vinagar chips. Also, a hot towel works. Or ice cubes on your head. All of those things work for me and hopefully will work for you too. Oh ya I heared that acupunture REALLY works too.

- I went to a chiropractor recently, and she really cured my headaches. She used a little machine to align my spine instead of cranking and twisting me. Since I have an office job, she said it is very common for one of the vertebrae in the neck to get out of alignment, and pinch one of the veins going to the brain, which causes the headaches. I had really headaches about 2-3 times a week before, and now they are almost nonexistent, and have been for about 1 year!
