Recipes for the Beginner to Gourmet Chef

Our recipe lenses are proving to be pretty popular and we're having fun making them, so thought we would start this lens as a sort of "cookbook" or collection of all of our recipe lenses in one place. But don't let the word "recipe" scare you if you've found this lens because you simply like to eat but you don't like to cook!

You'll be Cookin' Up a Storm (or at least a pot of soup) in No Time!

Even if you don't have a floured thumb, you'll find clear, step-by-step instructions with photos that illustrate how to DIY on many of these lenses. We've got no-cook, easy-to-make dishes that even the kitchen-phobic will want to try as well as a few upscale dishes that will appeal to more experienced chefs and palates, but that are designed for anyone to be able to follow and complete successfully -- from shopping for ingredients and stocking a kitchen to basking in the praise heaped on you when you serve the results of your efforts to your family and friends!

So if you like to cook, or just like to eat, browse through our "cookbook" for old standards, traditional never-before-revealed secret family recipes, and new favorites.

We've got a lot more in the oven and as soon as they are finished baking, we'll add them here. Check back and see what else is cooking soon.

To Cook or Not To Cook...

That is the Question

Do you like to cook? Or is a microwaved frozen pizza from the grocery store your kind of home-cooked meal?

(If you do not have a love or hate relationship with a kitchen or cooking appliance, vote for the side you favor most and tell us why.)

I often adapt recipes from the many cookery books I have.

It's obvious from my recipe lenses that I like to cook, although I prefer not to do it alone. Help in the kitchen is always welcome as far as I'm concerned!

What's Your Cooking Style?

Adventurer or Cautious?

Are you an adventurous cook who will frequently and fearlessly use a recipe for the first time for a dinner party or are you more likely to stick to the tried-and-true instead of serving something new?

When guests are coming for dinner, are you more likely to try making a dish you've never tried before or do you steadfastly stick to old reliable recipes? Do you find repeating the same meals every week comforting or boring?

For better or worse, Fearless Adventurer. But I always have a back-up plan just in case :-)
