Our Norwegian Heritage

Ranked #10,426 in Education, #234,284 overall

Norskamerikanere :: Norwegian Americans

Norwegian immigrants came to the United States primarily in the latter half of the 19th century and the first few decades of the 20th century. There are more than five million Norwegian Americans according to the most recent U.S. census. Most live in the Upper Midwest (55%), while a large number live in the Pacific Northwest (21%).

As a parent, I want my children to develop an appreciation for our cultural heritage and a solid foundation of our ancestry and history. As a homeschooling mom, I look for every opportunity to provide educational experiences for them. This lens was developed to provide us with a means to share our culture with others. I hope you find it both educational and enjoyable.

    I think it's wonderful to maintain cultural roots. Too many Americans have totally forgotten theirs.
