The Farm

My sister in law has a farm. In this lens I am sharing a little bit of the farm life with you.
This is one of the goats. They are so cool! They act like a dog, loving to be petted.

Simply Beauty

I see a simple beauty out on the farm. It is quiet and away from other houses. Life flourishes with wide open spaces and animals galore not to mention the food you can grow. She has a number of different fruit trees there which I will take pictures of next time I go there.

Meet THE GANG

Yes, this one is part of the gang. One of the chickens is a bully. I am not naming any names, but I will tell you there is a bully amongst the crowd. We get to eat the natural no hormone eggs that come from these chickens which is very cool. Life on the farm (or near one)can be quite a treat, a smorgasbord of bonuses and delights not to mention the quietude of a sort of zen bliss that puts one in a state of meditation there away from the buzzes and beeps of city life.

Dogs love farms
The Buckwheat Girls

Meet "The Buckwheat Girls"
You can hear them singing their song "buckwheat, buckwheat, buckwheat". They stand out in the crowd amongst life in the gang with their unique chant that beckons you to listen and take in their sweet melody.

"The Buckwheat Girls" at social hour, a time when the gang gets together, mingles, swaps stories and speaks proudly about Life on the farm
Ok, I'm naming names
Meet the Intimidator He is one mean rooster and he bullies his own kind and humans alike. It does not matter who you are to him. Watch out! He'll do his best to intimidate you.

This lens is to share the garden with you. This is the first garden we have grown. It is great to have your own organically grown vegetables and herbs. It saves you money at the grocery store, plus they are alot more delicious not to mention fres...
Emus are fascinating
These emus are a neighbor's, out on the farm. They are fascinating to watch as they gracefully danced before us, grateful to have an audience for their daily parade of emu mating rituals and playful dances. They'll entrance you as you gaze upon their beauty while they perform for you.

The Deer Family
We saw a family of deer today. The kids were on one side of a fence, the parents had jumped onto the other side. There is so much beauty in nature. I love watching the many animals I find around the farm.

Ponies
I grew up in the seventies when every little girl wanted a pony. Here are some beautiful ponies that live across the road from the farm.

Backyard Chickens
Gathering for a quick meal and free handout our backyard chickens come excited and unafraid to feast and frolick.

Me and our pomeranian

It's a wonderful night for a moondance
Life on the farm says goodnight, tucking into the folds of the Earth. The animals settle in for their nightly slumber as the moon dances across the sky to signal the completion of yet another day on "The Farm"

New Giant Squid, Jewelsofawe, takes you Out on the Farm. Her sister-in-law has a little piece of heaven out in the country where Jewels and her hubby love to visit. There, they can get into a state of "zen bliss." At this lens you will meet the farm animals through her many photos. It's a treat to see the beautiful colors and markings on the chickens and to learn about some of the animals' characteristics. Seems like there's always a bully somewhere on the farm, but I am thinking that the way Jewels describes the Intimidator makes him pretty much the winner in the rooster-bully department. See photos of the goats, the emus, the guineas, the horses -- even a passing deer family. Oh! And the photos of the pears on the tree: Would love to be able to pick one right off the page. They look so juicy! ...Enjoy your visit!
