How would you like to be an Outlook master and SharePoint hero?
Learn the tips and tricks from someone who has been training corporate users on how to better utilize Microsoft Outlook for over 10 years. I'll also share with you some of my favorite Outlook and SharePoint websites and blogs.
I welcome your comments at the bottom of this page. How has Outlook helped you? Do you use Outlook in an unusual way? Would you like to know more about Outlook and SharePoint integration? What is SharePoint? Do you know? Do you wish you could use Outlook and SharePoint better? Ever wonder how to use Outlook to manage contacts? These questions and more can be answered through just a bit of Outlook training and SharePoint training.
And don't forget to make a stop at the Polling Station below, too. We'd love to hear from you.
We even have an Outlook Wish List. Tell us what features you'd like to see in Outlook.
What is SharePoint?
Most people know what Outlook is, but SharePoint is still fairly new. Let me explain in a nutshell what SharePoint is and what it provides.
SharePoint Services is a password protected website where you can share and collaborate with co-workers, teammates, clients, partners, and most anyone you need to work with. Think projects, tasks, calendars, team blogs, documents, event management, & more.
Small businesses can get this site with a SharePoint hosting company for about $30 a month. Cool!
Let's see....what shall we cover?
So many video tips, let's do these to start with:
1) Outlook 2007 and SharePoint Services 3 - Integrated Tasks features
2) Outlook 2007 Calendar and Google Calendar integration
3) Connect Outlook 2007 and SharePoint Document Libraries
Plus, I'll keep adding more. See some great books too
Outlook 2007 and SharePoint Services 3 - Integrated Tasks features
The Task integration features between Outlook 2007 and SharePoint Services 3 have brought me more surprises than I imagined, and to make it even better, the To-Do Bar picks them up. Woo Hoo! What does that mean exactly? Well, if there are tasks that are in a SharePoint site assigned to you and you have connected that SharePoint task list to your Outlook, your assigned tasks are visible and workable from the Outlook To-Do Bar. When you check-off one of those tasks through Outlook, the SharePoint task also gets updated. It's really an incredible way to work.
But don't take my word for it. Check out the video tutorial below to see how this works.

Connect Outlook 2007 and SharePoint Document Libraries
The video below will focus on the new Document Library syncing capability that allows you to easily access, preview, search, and edit your SharePoint document libraries in Outlook 2007.
Also, are you looking to find more about how to work with Outlook and SharePoint? Here's a great article (with screenshots) about how these two provide online and offline functionality for sharing documents.

Hi Akalli, Nice Outlook and SharePoint lens. I like the use of callouts and sticky notes. The polls add some nice interactivity and the vids are very instructional. Excellent job. ~Music Resource~ Posted February 19, 2008 |
Andrea:
This page is a treasure trove of practical and valuable information for those who use (or who want to use) Outlook, Sharepoint or both to their fullest.
The page highlights the fact that you are not just an expert in those applications, but in training others remotely as well. You have assembled everything anyone needs to become an Outlook/Sharepoint power user.
I will bookmark, visit often and let my contacts know of this fabulous resource - THANK YOU!
