Plus sized clothes for big and tall guys!

Buying clothes when you're regular sized is never an issue, just head into town, pop into a few stores and take your pick... but buying a shirt with a 23" collar, or an 8XL sweatshirt, or trousers with a 72" waist is another matter!

This lens is devoted to the bigger and taller men out there who struggle to buy clothes that fit, and even when they do find a store which stocks their size the choice is limited to say the least... well struggle no more, help is at hand on Squidoo!

Outsize menswear, whether extra large shirts, extra long trousers, or extra big shoes are all covered here ;)

So just what is "Outsized"

Plus sized, outsize, Big & Tall... what does it all mean?

While there is no definitive answer to where "Regular size" ends and "Plus sized, or Ousized" begins, the larger you get the more difficult it is to find suitable clothes, and the choice often diminishes.

In the UK, chest and waist sizes above a 46" or 48" become harder to find, as do collar sized over 17", inside leg measurements over 34" and shoes larger than a UK 11.

While in theory any size above these would be 'outsize' most stockists go up to a 72" chest waist, 23" or 24" collar, inside legs up to 49" (or 40" unhemmed) and footwear up to UK size 19.

To complicate matters slightly, there are also 2 standard ways of sizing most garments. Using multiplications of XL (eXtra Large) such as 2XL, 3Xl, 4XL etc. and actual measurements in inches. While different manufacturers have slightly different scales, in general a 2XL measures 46/48" while at the other end of the scale 8XL measures 70/72".
