    Even though an anxiety/panic attack can be a really scarey event to the sufferer that is experiencing the attack, it is crucial that the individual realizes that the anxiety/panic episode is actually quite harmless even though the symptoms that are being experienced probably don't feel harmless.

    Scans have shown in recent years that when an individual suffers extreme panic/anxiety, their brain's activity shifts from the front part of the brain to the area of the mid brain. Therefore, if they want to restore themselves to a state of calm they really need for their brain's mental activity to change back.

    It is estimated that about 5% of the population will have anxiety attacks. This could easily be more since the numbers are sometimes under reported.
