How a former Personal Fitness Trainer started an Online Information Business...

... and created a website with no previous "techie" experience.

Greetings! Welcome to the Squidoo Lens for Expert-Information-Online.com. My name is Big John and I am the publisher of several very popular Info sites and blogs. I am located in beautiful Pleasant Valley, in the wine country foothills of northern California. Along with my three partners, I also manage The Feierabend Organic Skin Care Shop.

Before venturing into the Online business world, the four of us were all self employed as Personal Fitness Trainers. It's a great career - but we began to realize that while we were helping our clients live better lives, our own lives were consumed by the time we were putting into our profession (sound familiar?)

One evening, the four of us were brainstorming various ways that we could increase our revenues. However, after a while it became apparent that there was one main limiting factor to every idea we came up with - lack of time. It was at that point that we all realized we needed to shift our focus from our current careers & explore a radical new career path - one that would generate income 24/7.

The analogy that really made sense with us was the correlation between the human metabolism (the rate at which one burns calories) and generating revenue. As trainers, one of our main goals is to help raise the metabolisms of our clients - not just when they are exercising, but ALL the time - so that they are burning calories while they're at work, relaxing at home and even while they are sleeping.

That's the kind of revenue generation I wanted to create - the ever elusive "residual" income that doesn't stop when I stop working for the day.

Easier said than done, right? Well, that's what I thought; that is until I found out about the "secret weapon" that a very few, savvy individuals were using to achieve the financial freedom that we all desire. Read on.

Don't get me wrong -I love training. Unfortunately, there is no time for anything else. Freedom, adventure, new experiences - life was passing me by while I was busy paying the bills.

As a trainer, I was in the business of helping others set goals. It was time for me to set some new goals of my own: "I will find a new career that makes me happily jump out of bed in the morning, that pays the bills AND that allows me the FREEDOM to do whatever I want for at least 6 months of the year. I will also find something that I will still be happy doing in twenty years time."

Sound unrealistic? I assure you, it's not. If I learned one thing as a trainer it's that nothing is impossible! Think about your life. What is it that you really want from it? And turn off the little voice that keeps saying, "It can't be done." Because it can.

...is so simple, I wonder why it took me so many years to find it: Make a career out of doing what you love! I thought that was what I was doing. I was close - but I was going about it the wrong way. I've now found the "right" way. Anyone can live the life of their dreams. That includes you, too. Here's how I did it.

My passion is anything healthy. That's how the Feierabend Organic Skin Care Shop came to be. Another interest I have is reading unique and useful information on the Internet - which is how this site came to be. You can apply what I am doing to any passion, hobby, skill or area of expertise that makes you happy.

As I stated before, the main limitation I was facing as a trainer was that I could only train so many people. Once the training stopped, so to did the revenue. "So", I thought, "how can I reach an unlimited number of people with my interest in providing relevant and fun to read content?" The answer was the Internet. After a little research, I discovered a free course about Internet Marketing. "Cool", I thought. "Work from anywhere, anytime - exactly what I was looking for."

Of course, like so many products in the area of Internet marketing, the course never lived up to its promise to make me rich quick. But it taught me enough to immediately realize the value of another product I stumbled across.
