"Overhead Press A True Test Of Strength And Muscle Mass"
Ranked #8,754 in Education, #199,383 overall
The overhead press should be the true test of strength and to gain muscle mass
The true test of strength and power should be the overhead press. In the early 1900's people wanted to know how much weight can you put over your head. Look at the olympic lifts they are based on weight being lifted over the head. The snatch, the clean and press, and at one time just the press. But it was dropped. Why? Because you could lean back into what at times looked like a standing bench press. Making it easier to put up bigger numbers. Not because your stronger, but by leaning back. Take the bicep curl as an example, when it gets harder you start swinging your body to get the weight up. Thats momentum not strength.Click Here!
THE BENCH PRESS FOR MUSCLE MASS?
Monday evening rolls around and your in the gym. Everone starts the week with their favorite muscle group, the chest, and everones favorite exercise, the bench press. You gather around with your buddies after waiting thirty mintues for a bench. You go through your warm ups and now your into your work sets. You LAY on the bench. Your spotter HANDS you the weight with a lift off. You arch your back off the bench so high your butt is not on the bench, in what looks like a decline bench. You BOUNCE the weight off your chest/stomach. And the spotter is HELPING you lockout the weight you jump up and high five everone because you just benched 315. And that is now what you tell everone when they ask "how much do you lift".Click Here!
STRENGTH WITH THE PRESS
Now let's look at the overhead press. You stand in front of the weight on floor. You bend over and pick up the weight and clean it to the chest. Working the legs, back, forearms, and biceps. Now the chest is resting on upper chest. With your own strength you push the weight overhead. Working the shoulders, arms, upper chest, abs and your balance. It is a little hard to cheat on the overhead press, but it can be done.

HOW TO GAIN MUSCLE MASS
The overhead press just works more muscle than the bench press. The bench press works all the chest, shoulders, and triceps. The overhead press done from the floor works the legs, back, upper chest, triceps, biceps, forearms, shoulders, and traps. That is almost the whole body with one exercise. The bech press done the way it is done in most gyms and by most people is just a sloppy and easy exercise. The overhead press is just a more difficult exercise. And a hard exercise while make you stronger all over. More muscle being worked the more weight used the more muscle mass gained.

STRENGTH TRAINING LIKE DADDY
On top of the muscles being worked in the overhead press. On top of the strength and power that the overhead press develops. There is no support wear that you can use in the press. No bench shirt, no knee wraps, no power suit, no hand off, no spotter. Just you and the weight. Now that will develop real daddy muscles.
