Beautiful lens and very informative. We once disturbed a fazant nest while mowing the roadsides and the mom didn't came back all day and then we took all the eggs home and put them under a broody chicken and the eggs hatched wonderful. But.....as fazants are precocial birds and chickens are not, the Mom chicken would get a heart attack each time the fazants thought there was danger, because they would fled to every corner in their bin, but not running to mom to hide under her feathers, so she was very upset each time.

Another excellent lens (as always) I saw giant turtles come out of the sea on a small island in Borneo and watched as they laid their eggs. I even saw babies from a previous brood digging their way out (the nests are marked and dated) the hatchlings were collected so they can be put into the sea safely

Who ever stopped to think about eggs in such detail? This is a most informative and unusual lens I've seen yet! I've learned things I never even thought about. Thanks for going where few have gone. I've decided right here and now that I'm creating my own accolade (relating of course, to my own specialty...yodeling. But, none the less, meant as high praise!) It's to be the "Yodel Hail". You get the first one.

Originally, I had decided to include in my group Easter Time Headquarters only pages directly related to Easter. However, yours is the second amazing page that I have seen dedicated to teaching little children about eggs and I know how they fit perfectly with the excitement for children of Easter time so I have just created a new section for lenses devoted to teaching about eggs. Welcome to Easter Time Headquarters! Don't forget to visit and add your lens to the Link Plexo!

My favorite is the hummingbird, it is my hope one day to come upon a nest and actually see the eggs myself, I did get to see a video on a lensmaster page and was amazed with that! Oh, I'm not a member, I'm Tipi's sister and tend to Squidoo around from her guestbooks. I have some teacher friends that will take advantage of some of your great ideas--and well presented I might add. I went to Skip Counting first and said to myself, "she's a teacher".
