Owen Wilson was born in Dallas, Texas 18 November 1968. The creative genes were there right from the start. His mother Laura is a photographer and his father Robert, an ad executive. His brothers Andrew and Luke Wilson are both actors.

Expelled from St. Mark's Academy in Dallas Texas in the 10th grade for cheating on an exam, Wilson finished his sophomore year at Thomas Jefferson School and then headed to a military academy in New Mexico. He then attended the University of Texas in Austin, where he became friendly with Wes Anderson. This is where it all started...

Owen Wilson: The Movies 

What a multi-talented fella!

Owen Wilson wrote the screenplay for Bottle Rocket (1996) together with Wes Anderson after college which although critically acclaimed, didn't make the expected profit at the box office.

However, despite the setback, Wilson moved to Hollywood and set up house with his brothers. His first movies included parts in The Cable Guy (1996), and Anaconda which led to bigger starring roles in Shanghai Noon (2000), Meet the Parents (2000) and Behind Enemy Lines (2001). Owen was also maintaining the writing career with Wes during this time and worked on screenplays for both Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums.

The big break perhaps came after his successful collaboration with Ben Stiller on Zoolander. To date they have worked on eight films together including Starsky and Hutch and Meet the Parents.

His latest movies have included You, Me and Dupree and Night at the Museum. He is currently working on Drillbit Taylor (John Hughes) and The Darjeeling Limited (Wes Anderson).

The Butterscotch Stallion 

The Legendary Charm of Wilson

Owen Wilson aka The Butterscotch Stallion is understandably known for being a bit of a ladies man. A confirmed-bachelor, he's been linked with Winona Ryder, Sheryl Crow and more recently, Kate Hudson. As far as anyone knows, he is currently single.

He's also a self-confessed member of the Mile High Club and was also a regular guest at the Playboy Mansion until recently.

In an interview for Wedding Crashers, Owen admitted that he doesn't find meeting girls a problem (no -really?)!

"I mean it's probably gotten easier for me to meet girls as I've gotten older, and girls are like better able to see what a becoming person I am. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm in movies. I would like to think that it's because I'm a kind person. Girls, just as I get older, are better able to see into my heart and recognize that. Who knows?"
