Hopefully these P90X reviews will shed some light on often asked questions such as, "Is P90X for me?", "Does P90X work for women ?" and "What kind of results can I expect from this exercise program?"

Let me start off by saying, "P90X is the real deal. I've done it and countless other men and women - just like you and me - have graduated from the P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workouts. And these fitness workouts are extreme my friend, but - as long as you keep pressing play for ninety days - you can achieve great results like us!"

I have to admit, when I purchased the P90X DVDs I was just expecting to get a challenging workout series. I did a little research and was convinced that the concept of "muscle confusion" (more about that later) would make this workout series different and more effective that other programs.

Turns out that P90X, or Power 90X, was very different from any workout program that I had ever been through ( and I've been through a few ). This program was a complete and comprehensive fitness system that also included a nutrition plan, a support community, as well as a state of the art home workout plan.

It really did make a difference in how I looked and how I felt in just 90 days. With Tony Horton leading the workouts, it was like having a personal trainer/motivator right with me to help me get the most out of each session.

I never missed a day. Sure, some days I had to drag myself down to my little workout area and insert that days DVD. But almost always after a few minutes Tony had me into the workout and I was giving my best effort. As he says, "Do your best...and forget the rest!". Tony is not only a world class trainer, he's also a master motivator.

If you are looking for a sound, sensible system to get you into the best shape of your life, I urge you to seriously consider P90X. If you could have the guidance and motivation of Tony Horton to help you become more fit, imagine how great you could look and feel after just 90 days!

Answering Your Questions about P90X

Thank you for taking the time to visiting my P90X review page. I imagine you are here because you have a few questions about this home fitness program. I wanted to take a minute and address some common concerns.

You might wonder, "Is P90X the right fitness choice for me?" or " What kind of results can I expect if I get this workout program" and "How does it compare to other programs that I could follow?"

As a Coach at Team Beachbody, I hear questions like this frequently. And, it is wise to ask them before you commit yourself to getting involved in this or any other fitness program.

As I write this, I'm currently going through the P90X workouts once again. (Just finished Yoga X for Week 8 Day 1 a couple of hours ago.) I love the program and have gotten so much out of it. But I caution you that P90X is not for everyone.

First of all, you need to be in fairly good shape before you undertake this program. You don't have to be Superman or Wonder Woman, but you can't expect to succeed if you've let yourself get a little out of shape.

If that's the case, there are other fitness programs you might want to tackle before you try your hand at P90X. I've listed a couple a little further down the page.

But, if you are in reasonably good shape - and you are ready to commit to "bringing it" - there is no reason you can start producing the eye popping results you see on all those commercials!

As far as I'm concerned, there is really no fitness program on the market that compares to P90X. If you really want to get into the best shape of your life, this program will lead you there. It's not just muscle building or cardiovascular training. It's all that and more.

You'll be able grow stronger, build muscle or tone up (whichever you desire); you'll increase your cardiovascular capacity. In addition, you tighten up your core muscles. You can increase your flexibility and move more freely and athletically through everyday life.

Well....I could go on and on but to keep it short, you'll get the training you need to comprehensively improve your fitness levels. And, I haven't even mentioned the Nutrition Guide.

If your goal is to really become fit, that includes more than building muscle or becoming more toned. You will likely need to shed some excess body fat . You will also definately have a need to fuel your body properly - especially when undertaking these exercises.

And eating right is central to that. If you want to get rid of some unwanted poundage of expose those six pack abs, you'll need to pay attention to the foods you are using as fuel. And you'll need to eat those foods that properly nurture and fuel your body.

Yes, P90X gives you what you need to really transform your physique. By following this plan for 90 days - or longer if you desire - you can look and feel better than you ever have before.

I'm 52 years old and following this fitness plan has helped me feel many, many years younger. I think if you commit and follow this plan, you will get similar - perhaps better -results. Again, thanks for reading. - Chip

P90X Extreme Fitness Workouts - Bring it!

My Experience. My P90X Review

Fortunately, when I first got the P90X package I did take the time to go through the Fitness Guide and Nutrition Plan.

In the Fitness Guide there is a "Fit Test" on pages 20 to 26. Because this program is an advanced program you'll need to be able to start at an adequate level of fitness. In fact, they recommend that you complete Power 90 or Slim in 6 before you embark upon this journey.

Well, I was able to pass the Fit Test and start the workouts. There are three variations of the P90X workout that you can follow. There is the Classic version, the Doubles version 9 where you add a second workout in the latter weeks), and the Lean version (more cardio and less muscle building).

Why Is A Tony Horton Workout So Different?

Get to know your new personal trainer.

Tony Horton is the trainer that will guide you during you workouts. Believe me, Tony will keep you going. I know it's almost a cliche to say that someone makes working out fun, but Tony does make it fun.

I know there have been workouts where I was dragging and just barely able to drag myself down to the den for a workout but soon got into it and had a really productive session.

That's Tony. He's got a lot of enthusiasm and a quirky sense of humor. After you go through this workout series you'll feel like you actually know Tony. And you'll fully know why a Tony Horton workout is so different than all those other exercise sessions.

Going Through The P90X Workout - Day By Day

I chose the Power 90X Lean Workouts. While this variation emphasizes cardiovascular and aerobic training, there is still a lot of muscle building in the plan.

The program consist of 13 weeks of workouts. You workout 6 days a week and can rest or stretch on the remaining day. Most workout last for about an hour. Some a bit more. Some a few minutes less.

For me, the Yoga X workout was the toughest. It lasts for a little over 90 minutes and was really a challenge for me...every time! I loved the Kempo and Plyometric workouts. Seemed like those flew by!

If you are like me, there will be days when you just do not feel like working out. i mean, the 'new' wears off after you've done workout after workout. This is the point where you must remind yourself of why you are doing this in the first place. If you just push the DVD or tape into your recorder, press play and follow along - in almost no time Tony Horton will have you going. Some of my best workouts were on days that i had to drag myself through those first few minutes!

Now, A Bit About "Muscle Confusion"

The concept of "muscle confusion" is the key to P90X. In the Power90X program, you will go through a series of exercises for three week and then have a recovery week. After that it's on to three more weeks of different exercises before another recovery week.

This changing of exercises "confuses" you muscles, so to speak. Because your muscles never become accustomed to the program and never become efficient, they have to work harder and can't plateau.

So you keep getting stronger. At least that's my layman's understanding of it. It's explained fully starting on page 4 of the Fitness Guide. In fact, you could even ask the developers of P90x about it on the Power 90X Message Boards

Fitness After P90X

What do you do after the 90 days?

Okay, you've completed P90X !! Way to Go!! You've made great strides and no doubt feel better and look better.

But now you are left wondering, "What do I do next?

Well, in his message entitled, "Life After P90X" ( You can find it on page 41 of your P90X Fitness Guide ) , Tony Horton exhorts you to continue on. He states, " The truth about P90X is that there is no end. ...'

He goes on to suggest that now that you have completed the 90 day course you can continue on with your workouts - but modified to suit your needs. Tony says you don't need to "hammer out" workout six days a week, but that you can use this program for the rest of your life.

As a P90X Grad, I agree. The way I'm currently using the program is to go through the full 13 week program, rest 4 weeks and repeat. You don't have to do it my way, of course. You may want to build a program where you workout 3 day a week. Or you might combine P90X with other activities. It is up to you. The possibilities are vast.

I'm always up to trying new programs and during the current 4 weeks 'off' that I'm now in I'm trying out Ten Minute Trainer. in fact, I did the Yoga Flex DVD before writing this and it left me feeling fresh and energized. My point is : with a little imagination and experimentation, you can keep P90X fresh and enjoy it for a lifetime. A healthy and happy lifetime!

I thought P90X was an amazing workout program! I recommend it!

Brain Vitamins says:

I tried P90X and liked it a lot. Definitely a pleasant surprise. I think I assumed it would be dissapointing just because of how heavily it is marketed, and there are a lot of garbage workout programs, routines, and equipment being sold on TV. But I found P90X to be the real deal, and to be challenging even for an experienced athlete or weightlifter.

mikekiafas says:

I am a professional athlete and i tried P90X just to see what it is.I can say its an absolute must for anyone who wants to get lean muscular body .Highly recomend it.If you want to read more about bodybuilding you can check my site (http://e-bodybuilding.org)which is full of bodybuilding content!thanks.

bradscottfitness says:

I did p90x and its a great program.

flyguybc says:

I have been using P90X for the last 2 years and plan on pre-ordering Tony's next version shortly. It is by far the best fitness program I have ever completed and used. It is suitable for all experience levels and you will absolutely get results. Tony keeps things very interesting with his quirky sense of humour "OOPs, I think I ripped my pants" (for those that have the program). 11 out of 10!

BuddyShearer says:

A friend absolutely raves about this. He is going to give it to me next week. Looks hard to me.

Chip_Westley says:

Here's a highly rated scale with Body Fat reading, Yolanda. EatSmart Precision GetFit Digital Body Fat Scale w/ 400 lb. Capacity & Auto Recognition Technology

Hope that helps.

healthyfitnesshabits.com says:

It is one of the most intense workouts I have ever done. I loved every minute of it though. I kept pushing and that drive gave me the body I want. I would recommed this workout to anyone.

Yolanda says:

Can you recommend a good weight scale, cause my brand new electronic scale seems to be diff every time a step on it (within the same hour!!!)and my non-electronic 1 doesn't have body fat percentages? Also I'm on week 3 and I'm really not showing fast weight differences, I've lost maybe 3 lbs, but I can tell that my legs and arms are getting much toner and my whole body is sore, I weighed 143 now Im at 140. How many days before I actually see very visible results? I do love it though because now I have much more energy than before!!!

iRenew says:

The P90X is hardcore, for sure. If you get a friend to do it with you, it's much easier. After a few weeks, you get so sore and it' hard to keep pushing.
I was very out of shape when I started, and when I tried the test, I knew I wasn't ready. However, I left out the more intense workouts and did the stretching and was fit enough to start after about 3 weeks.

CarlThomp says:

having read your lens I intend to try the Power 90X as part of my aerobics routine. Thanks for the review very helpful

whoisbid says:

I need something like this

NathanStrength says:

I'm definitely considered trying out P90X or insanity one of these days. I've been hearing a whole lot about them and want to see the results I get for myself.

Chip_Westley says:

It works, Dark Lord. How much it works depends on you but you definately should see results after going thru the 90 day program.

The Dark Lord says:

Is P90X any good does it realy work within the 90 days deadline because i am thinking of buying when i get back of holiday?

Chip_Westley says:

Hi Heather,

First off, Congratulations for getting going and taking action!

P90X is an extreme fitness program that is intended for people already in pretty good shape. It's possible that going thru Power 90 or one of the less extreme program would be the best way for you to 'work up ' to P90X.

Actually, I can relate to where you are now. When I first started P90X, I wasn't really ready for it - and I didn't want to buy another set of DVDs!. So, what I did was really modify the program to fit me. I was doing push ups on my knees and maybe doing 4 or 5 reps when the people on the tapes were doing 30!

But I kept pushing play and slowly got more fit over time. That's probably not the best way to do it but it worked for me. There's no use in overdoing things and dreading working out.

As far as how to modify the nutrition plan when working graveyard, I'm not really sure other than listening to your body and eating healthily.

Hang in there, Heather. Hope that helped.

Heather says:

I LOVE the P90X Program and have seen my friends get GREAT results. BUT: How does the P90X Diet/Workout work for those of us who work Graveyards? Is there a Exercise Program out there to prep me 'for' the P90X Program in advance? I am simply not in sape enough to compete with the Abb Ripper or the Pushup/Pull Up/V-Ups section. I have had a child; 30-35lbs overweight (185lbs) and a smoker for 3 years...I know, I know. I am 25 this month. I quit smoking last week but I STILL need to still prep myself. What can I do to help me with the pushups/pullups and abb portion of this program. Is there a program to help me prep?? How would you eat with the Diet, if YOU worked Graveyards (9:30pm - 6:00am)? Thank you.

Robert says:

Let's get real p90x is not for everybody, but the program works if you just stick with it. I did not do the p90x diet i had my own diet plan, the p90x diet is to expensive and complicated and majority of the foods can't be purchased in a regular market. I did two stages of the p90x, meaning I completed the program twice. Then finally the folks @ beachbody created p90x + now that program will kick you're ass literally, I recommend the p90x + for those who want a harder challenge, lets get real it gets boring once you completed the program more than twice. I hate yoga it's boring, long and tony wont shut the hell up for 90 minutes no offence tony, But I still do it

Chip_Westley says:

CaliCountry Gal,

Sorry to hear about your experiences with the used DVDs and guides. Let me ask, Did you buy P90X direct from Beachbody?

The reason I ask is because i have heard that there are some selling pirated copies across the internet and I wondered if you got yours there. Even on Amazon.

Again, sorry to hear about your experience. - Chip

CaliCntryGal says:

I agree the idea of "muscle confusion" is great. I don't have a problem with the program. I do however have a problem with the fact the company sells you used items. When I recieved my package I opened and the fitness guide and nutritional plan books were obviously used, Whoever owned it before me took notes on top of these books because I could see indentures on the book cover. The DVDs all had tiny scratches on them. Sure they weren't scratches that causes significant damage, but for the price I am paying I expect brand new items. It's quite obvious they sell you products that have been returned to them. Very cheesy of this company. I am very dissapointed and not only want my money back I feel I deserve some sort of compensation for their decietfull ways.

Danny says:

P 90X is a great program but I do have some issues. House is not a gym, workouts are a little long especially in today's society when we are just busy and Yoga is way too advanced and too long. They pitch the infomercial that even the average person who is out of shape can do it but each dvd disclosure says that P90x might not be for you if you are not in shape and might want to seek another program. I have seen results and on my 2nd 90 day go around but still frustrated because I feel my results were not up to my standards and I am a slender person and didn't have any weight to lose.

JOSH CORDEIRO says:

I'm on week two of P90x and i have to say I feel great. I did a full cycle of
Power 90 to get me in shape for this program I highly recomend it.
Started of @ 225lbs. and I am down to 185Lbs. and feeling great.
Plan on doing the whole program it's fun and I love the results

jrbnson says:

I am just getting started on the P90X program and it is awesome! I love the workouts and since I am a freak for muscle soreness I feel good all the time now. I am on my second week of phase 1 lean and plan to move to classic during phase 2. My fav workout so far has been Yoga X. Not only has it helped with my flexibility but also in finding that inner peace we all need to get through tough situations. Great workout I would recommend it to anyone serious about fitness.

JavierMilian says:

It's great. This mixed with the Carb Cycling I wrote about in one of my lens worked wonders for me. I was always hesitant to follow a workout I found on tv but I couldn't be happier.

Chip_Westley says:

Hi Friendly,

I would say just listen to your body as far as doing the spinning classes, etc. I know people that have done P90X along with other athletic pursuits. And, always check with your doctors about these issues.

Congrats on getting started with P90X!

Friendly says:

I'm new to P90X, I've only just begun and have a long way to go before my 90days are complete. So far, so good though. I'm up each morning and getting the workouts done. I like that I can start on my time...flexibility is crucial for my busy schedule. I also enjoy, group spinning classes and some pool time. When doing P90X do I have to give those other things up for 90 days or am I still good to go?

chuckolate1 says:

Haven't used it, but such a great marketing promotion under a name for an idea that has worked since the day of cavemen. Trick your body for it to respond. Great lens

Dave says:

I'm in Day 7 week 6 of my third go at P90X. I had great results from doing it in the past, then moved, fought unmotivation and gained +20 lbs. If you stay motivated you can truly have great results. I've already lost my extra 20 lbs and increased my strength in every routine. I'm now doing more push-ups, pull-ups and lifting more weight than I did after doing it back to back a year ago. P90X isn't just a quick fix 90 day program, it is a great lifelong fitness commitment. I'm excited to start incorporating the P90X + routines into my next cycle!

Lucy Cote says:

Best workout... love it!!

Chip_Westley says:

Hi Carlos,
You'll find the information you are looking for in the Fitness Guide. The workouts are listed beginning on page 27 ( Unless they have changed it since I bought my copy.)

Also, be sure and watch the "How to Bring It" DVD first. Hope that helps.

Carlos says:

hi guys im new to p90x and just got my kit yesterday but im kinda confused because it doesnt tell me what dvd i have to watch first and in wat order i have to do it ummm can u guy please help me with this.

bruzzbuzz says:

I have not tried it but my son in law swears by it. He is in the Army and it has made him stronger than basic training ever did.

Chip_Westley says:

Yes, you should be just fine, Elisabeth.

Tony Horton's motto is "Do your best, and forget the rest." So if you have a day or two when you don't to so well - on the nutrition plan or the workouts - just keep going and you'll be fine.
Hope that helps. - Chip

Elisabeth says:

I'm on my first week, so hard. And I'm not perfect on the Nutrition plan yet but I'm pushing, and I'm just wondering.. I ate junk for the whole day today and I missed the yoga and kenpo): I feel really guilty, but if I continue to eat healthy and miss no workouts for the rest of the weeks, it should be fine right?

AdultAcneSystem says:

No, But it's in my new years resolutions to go through the 90 day challenge, can't wait.

John says:

P90X is well worth the money. Its cheaper than a gym and trainer and just as effective. Plus, you can do it over and over at no additional cost after the initial investment. I'm 58 and am now doing P90X for the second time. If I can do it you can too!

Chip_Westley says:

Well Shaun, that's an original take on P90X ! Enjoyed, thanks!

Shaun says:

I LOVED IT. Loved it. In fact, I just blogged about it...and I think P90xers will especially find this funny.

I like it in small doses.

abernook says:

my brother tried. loved it. harder than he thought!

Tim says:

In week 1 of P90X Phase 2 Lean Program and I say this program works! so far, I am down 30 pounds (225 to 195) and 10% body fat (32% to 22%). Does it take committment? Sure does - 1-1.5 hrs a day. Is it hard? You bet! I could not do ahrdly any of the exercises at first (heck, I was wore out after the "warmup/stretching" part at the begiining of each session. But "push play everyday" and "do your best and forget the rest" and the results will be there.

IncreasingVerticalJump says:

Hey Chip,

Thanks for the awesome review! From what I've seen after my friends went through the p90x program I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. I'll definitely be using the program over the next few months.

It Really is amazing! Me and My Wife are just on day 5 and loving it. Tony Horton really does make it simple to get though the DVD's he is so entertaining and enjoyable to watch and before you know it you feel fantastic. Highly recommended. However this is no walk in the park, you will need to be reasonably fit before you start this. Enjoy

I am turning 42 this week. I started on March 1st and finished the beginning of June (I added two weeks to phase one as I couldn't do a regular push-up when I started). I lost 40 pounds and am in the best shape that I can remember. You could call what I'm on now maintenance but after three months, my body craves non-junk food. I stretch a few times a week, walk the dog and do push-ups a few times a week but that's it. 195# and searching for old clothes that might fit me.

Leveda says:

I started last Monday and completed day 5 today. Although the workout is no joke and VERY serious, for the most part I am enjoying it. The variety of the exercises and the quality of the DVD's and program make it very doable if one is committed to fitness. The YogaX was off the charts hard so not sure about that one. I am looking forward to making it through the first 30 days as I fully expect to have seen some measurable results by that time. My plan and goal is to complete the entire 90 days. P90x rocks!!!

Keith says:

Just started week 2 and have already started reshaping my body. I was running for a month to get ready for the program and I am glad I did. I was a gym rat for years and fell off the workout wagon due to work and intense travel schedule. I have lost about 8 pounds in last month a
and combined with the running P90X is really doin it's job. Recovery drinks are crucial and I got mine from an advanced nutrition center. I tried the workouts without the recovery the first week and ended up getting sick on my rest day. You have to get some kind of reputable recovery drink to replace what you lose during very intense exercise. Reminds me of a mix of high school wrestling practice and military bootcamp.

Bethany Stachura says:

I am a 40 year old mom of four. I told myself this year I wanted to get into great shape. So far so great! P90X is the most intense workout I have ever done and the results are exciting. You really have to be in the right frame of mind to start this and your determination will carry you through. Just look in the mirror after a couple of weeks, you WILL be impressed and that will keep you motivated. For me P90X is life changing!

Mike Cummings says:

I cant say enough good things about this work out. It has changed my life for the better I can tell you that. From 280 down to 210 in 90 days!!! Im going to start my second round. I am try to get down to 195 and put back on another 20 lbs of muscle. This work out is a blessing!

Chip_Westley says:

Good Luck and Congratulations Marisa!

Pay special attention to the Nutrition Guide and you'll do fantastic, I predict. :)

Marisa says:

I finally bought P90x, and cant wait to use it! I have been trying to loose weight now for 3 years and have lost a total of 65 lbs. I'm hoping P90X will help me to loose the last 10-15 lbs, and get me the body I've been trying for! Time to get lean and strong! Wish me luck : )

Buy p90x Cheap says:

p90x does indeed work but you really do need to focus on the nutrition plan as well. If you do this you'll see better results.

GiftBasketQueen says:

Thanks, your article really motivated me to try P90x out. So far, everything's going very well. I even made a P90x review site to monitor my progress.

Thanks for helping me get started

Michaud68 says:

I'm on phase 2 week 5 of P90X I have dropped 21lbs so far and I am already noticeably stronger. The workouts are brutal but you feel a great accomplishment on every workout you finish. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to get in shape.

Shawn says:

I am on my second round of P90X claasic version. I do it faithfully with my wife. Don't underestimate how tough these workouts are. I still struggle with just about everything. Ab workouts all happen after hour long weight training sessions. I have definately lost weight and gained muscle and will continue to use this program. You MUST eat properly or you will get fit but won't LOOK fit. Do it with a partner or you may be tempted to skip days. It does work as advertised if you do it the way it is supposed to be done so read the books. Don't just borrow a copy or burn a copy without the reading material or you may end up disappointed. Worth every penny.

Scott says:

Awesome! Nice Article. Very informable. Definatly will check back in. Keep up the good work!

Ryan says:

I just finished the classic P90X version. Unbelievable results. Dropped 40 lbs from 230 to 190, and now have a 6 pack to show off. JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER! I recommend this to everyone, great workout. Don't cheat yourself by trying to do it yourself. Tony tells when to do it and how to do it. All you got to do is Bring It and the results will come.

Tony says:

I can't wait to get started!

dmessick says:

I love the P-90X Program. I use it in to stay in shape along with my Gracie Combatives Program.

vexsis says:

As I always say "when i get back on the P90X wagon it just kicks my butt right off it again"

Hex says:

I bought this program when it first came out and never used it since i was in pretty good shape i was trying to gain weight and couldnt until two years ago i gained weight just muscle weight like i wanted i just tried them out im on day 20 and love the program i cleaned up my diet and ive gone down in pant sizes even though ive only lost like 3 lbs im thinking of doing the doubles except instead of cardio x using insanity

maddin says:

I have heard it`s the best program to lose belly fat fast but I haven`t tried it yet...

Jason says:

P90X is awesome. I highly recommend it.

It really helps when you have your own joist mount chin up bar, to make the workouts easier.

Chip_Westley says:

David,
Way to go!
Keep pressing play and you will achieve amazing results!
I just when through the Plyometrics DVD yesterday and agree with you. It is one intense workout.

Rose Marie,

Sounds like you are heading toward an amazing 40th birthday party. Congratulations. You have the perfect attitude and will really make great stride. Keep going. A lot of folks follow Round 1 of P9oX with Ronds2...3... and so forth. All the Best!

Chip_Westley says:

Cameron,

Where did you purchase your DVDs from? That could be the reason for the skipping/low quality.

I've been told there have been problems and you could get low quality products if you do not get then directly from Beachbody.

David says:

51 and starting to get the body of a 30 year old. I do more in 1 hour with P90X than I did in 4 hours at the gym. No waiting for equipment. First time I did Plyo I could only do half the routine and could not walk easily for three days. In Phase two and did all of Plyo and while I am sore I am walking much easier than week 1. Each exercise makes you sore but in a good way. It is muscle confusion. Press play and do what you can and challenge yourself to do a little more each week. When I first started I could only do 6 push-ups and am up to 20 for each set except for one arm (not there yet). Not losing weight but am losing belly fat and gaining inches on my arms and legs. I was already at my goal weight just need to replace fat with lean muscle and it is happening. Do not give up, do what you can do and keep going.

Cameron says:

The dvd's skip and don't play right, i tried them in multiple dvd players... good workout program but low quality merchandise!

Rose-Marie says:

I am 39 about to be 40 in June and my goal is to have my 40th birthday party and to see the reaction on my guess faces when I walk through the door. I first started out with the slim in 6 and got a little bored with that I was looking for a challenge. Well I found what i was looking for in P90X this is my 5th week and i just have to say I can't wait to come home from work and do the workout for the day. I love Tony he makes the workout fun and exciting. I see improvement every week the only problem I am having is the push ups this is very hard for me but I try to do as much as I can but like I have said before this is a great workout program. I also have my girlfriend working out with me. Can't wait to see what I look like at the end of this program because I am not stopping there. Thank you Tony and beachbody keep up the good work.

thebestmusclebuildingprograms says:

this p90x workout is so good. It's worth the money though and it works

mackmiller says:

I did the P90X workout program and loved it! After working out in gyms for over twenty years, nothing compares to P90X. I say, "Save your money on gym memberships and just buy P90X!" If interested, you can see my results at my P90X Workout Program lens.

Anne_Dovel says:

Great review, Chip. P90X and Tony Horton are the real deal. I was skeptical until I tried it for myself and never having been fit before, the results amazed me. Tony is so thorough that even someone like myself with no fitness background, ended up super fit and with no injuries. If you ever have a chance to work out live with Tony, jump at it! Keep up the good work!

ricky_D says:

it's amazing! thats all i can say, i mean, if you see my before and after pictures you would say the same. im currently doing p90x plus, insaine!! . but i love it. bring it on Tony.

AmitolaZander says:

I haven't tried it myself but sounds quite good in your review.

jaqinthemac says:

P90 Grad P90x Grad a P90x+ Grad and now an INSANITY GRAD!!!

george says:

an hour per day is not too long, 12-18 minutes of it includes warming up and stretch at the begining and cool down and stretch at the end..

george says:

P90x changed my life. Never looked or felt better. Anybody can use it too.

scifi22 says:

Wow, Great job!
I have completed mine a few months ago myself. Tony was very motivational throughout. Currently, I am on to the next workout, Shaun T Insanity.

James Warrington says:

I loved it so much I became a coach. You can see my story on. www.beachbodycoach.com/jameswarrington

DanCarson says:

I have not tried it yet but I have a friend that is just starting and I may for the New Year.

AquaFan says:

I to am on the Power 90X and think the entire program is just amazing. This is the type of no hold bars exercise program that really invigorates me to keep going and achieve the results I was once only dreaming of. I just created a new lense, please come by and take a look regarding my Ab Circle Pro Reviewed lense and let me know what you think. I appreciate your opinions and comments!

Dr_Andre says:

I think that this is a great post and p90x is a excellent program, hey check out my lens at losing the Butt Fat

Chip_Westley says:

Ron , I think you can substitute resistance band exercises for pullups. I use a 2 by 4 nailed up in the garage ( not the safest option!) -Chip

Ron says:

Phenomenal workout. The second week just started and I feel amazing. I have seen differences in my body, but more importantly I feel the difference during the workout. Things that I could not do the during the first week have become attainable. I'm not on the nutrition plan, I love food too much, but the workout itself is amazing. The only issue I have is not having a pull up bar, or having a sturdy enough place to install one. Any suggestions to remedy this? Do they have pullup bars with water or sandbag bases?

Mtaberna says:

Never.

educatedinvestor says:

I'm a personal trainer, and find most fitness products sold on tv to be total garbage. Tony Horton earned my respect. P90X is the only fitness product sold on tv that is a true comprehensive and balanced strength and conditioning program. No fads, no gimmicks, no BS. Nothing but sound workout programming and intelligent periodization. If you add your hard work and consistency to it, you will see results.

Chip_Westley says:

No. You stay too busy to get bored huh, Tom? Seriously, Tony Horton makes it fun.

tomlevenduski says:

I finished the program and had amazing results. It was easy to stick with; I was willing to do the work and did not get bored (there is a good variety of workouts included in the program).

Kleo says:

I'm only one week in and I am already seeing changes in my body. I'm loving this workout series!

Chip_Westley says:

Great reports Dana and Anna. Keep pressing play!

Dana says:

It is awesome. Day 13 and I am already seeing results. I can't wait to see day 90. I know this is the workout for me. I can't tell people enough how much I love p90x.

Anne says:

I am on day 4 of my p90x workout experience. Sore does not begin to describe how I feel, but it is a good sore. I am loving this workout and Tony does an excellent job of motivating and making this fun.

Chip_Westley says:

Ktree,

Glad to learn you're doing well with the P90X.

ktree says:

I've just started using P90X. It is a great workout. Thanks for the thorough lens.

Chip_Westley says:

I think it is one of the best - if not THE best - home workout programs to come along in a long while!

Chip_Westley says:

P90X is one of the best - if not the best - home workout programs to come along in a long time!

Other workout programs are better suited to my needs.

RippedBodybuilding says:

I can see that this would be good for some but I've been getting great results from free weights. Nice job on this lens!

Tolovaj says:

Never tried this workout, so can't really rate it. But it certainly looks interesting.

Daniel Buckle says:

Very nice post, Ithink that the P90x workout is not as good as the Insanity workout however. They are both great workouts, and I love em though! I also have a fitness and nutrition blog, it's called www.fitnesstroop.com. Check it out if you guys like, I would love to write something on this post :)! Cheers, Dan.

bestproteinpowderonline says:

While P90X is not something that I have tried personally, you cannot discount it's wide appeal and popularity, and anything that gets people excited and motivated to workout gets the thumbs up. Other programs more tailored to your own goals and availability would be much more worthwhile than a "one size fits all" package such as this one.

Bigadam155 says:

Its a great program but not for everyone. Dedication, space to perform the activities, and hard work are a necessity.

workingmomwm says:

Thanks for this lens. It really helped me see that this program is not for me. I really have let myself get out of shape (having to go to PT now because of it), so I really need to start with something lighter and easier!

Serj says:

All of my sisters were crazy about the P90X but I saw little to no difference in their fitness...but perhaps that is their lack of dedication rather than a weekness of the program... I ha ve not personally tried it.

daedrea says:

Never tried it, but I would definitely recommend this to my male friends and my dad...I don't really think P90x is for me though...I just want to lose weight and tone...not overdo it.

Heather says:

I tried it today for the first time, but I di not fully prepare myself for the intensity. : ( I paced myself at first, but pushed it as hard as I could (failure point) during the last part of the Chest & Back workout and now (8 hours later)... I can barely bend my elbows and joints in my arms. I'm THAT sore... Not sure if I did something wrong to start off or what program I should use to better prepare myself. I can hardly do any pushups and a LOT of the Abb Ripper moves I just couldn't do 'after' the workout yet alone after rest. My lower back just isn't up for it now, I need to build it up first. Ideas? Help?? I love the P90X program, my friends have had great results, but then again they are all men and haven't had a child and aren't 30lbs overweight. I weight 180lbs, and I should weigh 150lbs. I got out of the Army 4 years ago and basicaly let myself go after my child was born...now I'm paying for it. : (

Also, I work GRAVEYARDS. I find for me, it is very hard to figure out the diet in the program (when to eat/what times) when working an already confusing schedule. Do I workout when I get home fro work at 7:00am or when I wake at 3:00pm?? *confused* Help!!!

Janeen says:

Although the workout is solid, there is one major serious issue with the program. The poor language and the inability for the company to edit it out, takes a solid workout program and makes inappropriate and very offensive.

If I had known about the verbal content of the program, I would never have purchased it. There are many other programs out there that use good language and give a solid workout. Use them instead.

AllPurposePapoon says:

I haven't tried it, but know of it. I do martial arts and much of the excercises I do are similar in nature. Don't let my marathon picture fool you, I believe to get the best results you have to do short explosive bursts of speed and power. Sprints, plyometrics, jump rope, and all martial arts kicks do the trick.

SunnyEllis says:

I started P90X, but after 3 weeks, my 11/2 year old got jealous. 10 min trainer is better for a busy mom. However p90x is still on my someday list

ReccoR says:

well done though!

Zach says:

I loved the first 3 weeks.... then i was bored and that 1 hour a day AT LEAST gets to be a major pain in the neck. but i suppose that you need to do work to get results and this will tell you a quick and effective method.

VivianAldana says:

I haven't yet tried it. But, my oh my, it takes a mega-commitment and banging results!

Katma says:

I prefer belly or hoop dancing.

says:

I appreciate the info however I'm not sure it's right for me.

traceysfolly says:

I tried Power 90X, it was a little too intense for me. I sold my copy on ebay. I hope the person who bought it enjoyed it more than I did.

Ener-G says:

I think I need the Power 1X program.

Momsbusy247 says:

I have not but I have friends who do it and you are right in saying if you are not pretty fit, don't even try this... it is a tough program

mukunda22 says:

Never heard of it!

Chip_Westley says:

Hey Musclebuilding X,

If that's your picture...I think you are far beyond P90x. Sir. ;)

Just kidding, Chip

Musclebuildingx says:

I'm not sure the programs worth $120. I have it and what pissed me off the most is them using it to pitch there supplerments.

allan23 says:

I may consider the program in the future. However, I'm still not convinced to spend $120.

timmyjohnson says:

I have not used it yet but I have heard great things

I did p90x a little while back and enjoyed it. My only issue with program is that the workouts are far too long. I personally like working out for about 30 minutes. Any longer and I just get fed up.

Sjgvj says:

Who made it?

cbledsoe says:

As of right now I have another workout that I follow
