To avoid a P90x scam, ask yourself if it is worth the risk of losing your hard-earned money in an attempt to save a few bucks. Probably should apply to darn near everything, but that's for another time. The point here is that there are approved outlets, then there are the scammers. Not to condemn everyone, but be real careful.

The developers of the P90x system take great pains to keep their product as pristine as possible. They do not want to see it bastardized by a bunch of people running knock-offs, homemade DVD's, and cheap printouts done on a copier. They should only have one or two copies, at most. Confirm they have everything that came with the product and nothing is damaged. When you buy from a legitimate source, you will get everything you need to achieve the promised results.
