Pachelbel's Canon is my favorite of all time. I play the CD to lull me to sleep with background sounds of ocean waves. I don't know why I like it so much either, but one thing is for sure, Canon calms me down. Blessed *****

I enjoy listening to it. I often play it while writing in my journal.

Pachelbel's Canon is rather important to popular music. So many different songs well into the rock and roll era used it as inspiration or the basis for a melody.

I enjoy hearing the canon, but not endlessly, and definitely not when it's over orchestrated and over-arranged.

Pachelbel's Canon is a favorite one that I constantly listen to in whatever instrument or arrangement. Listening to the Canon is always an experience of peace and delight. I'm glad to have discovered your lens. I learned much information that helps me appreciate even more this Baroque composition. Thank you so much.

Pachelbell rhymes with TacoBell... his first name is probably Johann... VERY FUNNY stuff!

And a superb lens. I think I know a lot about this period, and this piece in particular, yet you shared a lot of fun stuff. Thank you. Blessing...from the new Neighborhood Angel for Classical Music!

Pachelbel Canon in D was my favorite music of all.
I first heard it from the Korean film My Sassy Girl (although in this movie, it's in C)
Since then, this piece has been my ringtone
**It's my ultimate dream to be able to play this one on a piano :D

    Nice post!

I love this piece too. The most moving performance I have heard was by The Academy of St. Martins, at St. Martin in The Fields, bycandelight . The light, the architecture, the music all together was wonderful. You make a fantastic lens by the way. I have just enjoyed your Beethoven lens as well.

Was browsing lenses while listening to my favorite Blues tunes - sound level max, of course - and I don't know why, but your intro pushed me to stop the music and turn the video modules on... and listen to the music you love! Indeed, it's splendid! I'm a history lover and this brings me to Louis XIV's century. Thanks for the trip!
    Blessed by a SquidAngel.

I didn't think I knew Pachelbel's Canon but when I heard it, I recognized it from weddings. Beautiful especially Pachelbel's Canon Guitar Duet by Eric & Judd

A beautiful piece and I can see why you would like to play the guitar to it!

Thank you for introducing this piece to me. Pachelbel's Canon is lovely. I like it on the piano and the original with the violins and cello the best. The comedy skit was a riot!

Yes, I love the counterpoint and beauty of the piece! Although, several years ago I was playing it at a wedding with two other musicians. We were told to start at 2:00 on the dot, but we didn't see the bride in the back of the church. Usually we play something else until the bride is in view, but the pastor came over and whispered, "start now". Okay, we did as we were told. Apparently the bride was delayed due to a last minute tear in her dress that was quickly being repaired. We didn't know that though. After playing it a couple of minutes and still no bride, we nodded at the pastor to come over. "Should we play something else if there is a delay?" "No, just keep going until she is up here to the front." We repeated the piece without stopping ... over .... and over ... and over until she appeared 30 minutes later. We were never so relieved to see a bride! Good thing is we starting improvising some interesting variations! :D
