Where is the Pacific Northwest Region?
The Pacific Northwest Region is shared between the country of the United States of America and Canada. This region borders along the Pacific Ocean. The word "Pacific" distinguishes the Pacific Northwest Region from the regions of the Northwest of the United States and the Northwest Territories in Canada.
There are a variety of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed in the Pacific Northwest including hunting and fishing, golfing and skiing, hiking and climbing, skiing and surfing. When there is snow on the mountains and the sky is blue, it is possible to ski and golf in the same day. The climate is so varied that many outdoor activities can be enjoyed year-round.
With a varied climate many areas enjoy plenty of rainfall especially in the forests and arid and dry conditions in the deserts and mountains. In these areas live a variety of birds, fish, mammals and plants. In the Pacific Northwest we call these living creatures our wildlife. We share the forests, lakes, mountains and Pacific Ocean with this wonderful wildlife in the beautiful region of the Pacific Northwest.
