Package holidays to Cape Verde are a relatively new destination for the 2009 summer holiday market. The main resorts that are on offer are Santa Maria on the Island of Sal; and a small but growing selection of hotels on Sal's neighbour Boa Vista. Both islands are served by direct flights from the UK.

Sal

Sal is literally a desert island and has the most developed tourist industry with a good selection of hotels and packages to choose from. There are miles and miles of pristine sandy beaches and 350 days of sunshine a year. If you choose you could take a trip to some of the other unique islands. The best time to visit is between July and October.

Boa Vista

Boa Vista sits to the south of Sal and also has direct flights from the UK. The tourism industry is less developed that Sal but it still has a few good hotels if you want a quieter holiday.
