How I Discovered My Favorite Gemstone

aka Daydreaming at the Jewelry Store

Seveal weeks ago I was at my local jeweler's store having my wedding band resized. I am a regular customer at this particular Reeds Jewelers store, so I chatted with one of the employees while another one was retreiving and cleaning my ring.

The staff member I was speaking with was the store designer and gem specialist. He was brain storming design ideas and enlisted my feedback. He brought out boxes and boxes of loose gemstones. We placed stones side by side to discuss color combinations and possible settings.

During this fun, creative process he brought out a Padparadscha Sapphire. This was a 6 carat sapphire in a gorgeous salmon color. I was stunned by its beauty! He put the stone in a setting and let me try it on and I was in love! The stone set against my shade of skin perfectly and sparkled brilliantly. I am on the hunt for an affordable Padaradscha, and my husband knows that it would make a lovely anniversary present!
