Articles About Pagan Beliefs
Some people mistakenly believe that all Pagans are Wiccan but as mentioned, there are many Pagan traditions and Wicca is but one of them. Some other traditions are Asatru, Druidism, Celtic Paganism and various indigenous beliefs.
How do Pagans interpret Deity?
It all depends on which Pagan tradition they adhere to. Many, but not all, Pagan traditions recognize a balance between masculine and feminine divinity. This is often seen in the concept of the many gods and goddesses that are representative of polytheist beliefs (believing in more than one god or goddess).
Are all Pagans polytheists?
No, some may recognize deity as a more singular concept. These Pagans may refer to deity as Great Mother, the Source or Creator.
I've heard some people say they follow an earth-based spirituality. What does this mean?
Earth-based or Earth Centered Spirituality is one that holds a strong connection with and a reverance for the earth. There is also a knowledge of the cycles of the seasons, the phases of the moon and the wisdom associated with planting and harvesting.
There are many spiritual traditions and indigenous cultures that are strongly earth-based and they all recognize a sacred connection with earth and the need to treat the earth with respect.
