Easily Find out What your Google PageRank is by Following these Simple Tips

What is PageRank, and why should you even care?

You'll read from various sources that you shouldn't care about the evaluation, and that natural linking, quality content and the age of your website will gradually improve your site's PageRank. Still, you can't help but feel it's sort of Google's seal of approval on your website, blog, lens, or any page on the net. Google prefers to combine the two words "page" and "rank" into one word, pagerank. You'll commonly read it in forums, blogs and articles referred to as "PR." Here you can find out more information about the PR system, increase your PageRank, or easily add the PageRank icon to your lens,.

Add a PageRank Checker Icon to your Page

Determing your Google PageRank is a snap. You can add a free PageRank Icon to your site here, or you can download the Google Toolbar, another free tool, that will tell you the PageRank of any site you visit. Don't obsess over your PageRank, just try to build great content, keep your titles, keywords, and tags relevant, make additional web pages, and make something different--then link the relevant ones all together. Then, you'll inspire other people to link to you. If you have a Squidoo lens, consider joining some relevant Squidoo Groups.

Writing for the web isn't like writing an essay for English class. You're writing for the average reader, and for the search engines, too.

Linking Tips

Besides quality content and keywords, inward links are one of the most important elements that determine your PageRank. Increase your search engine placement with these helpful guides:

Learn the Basic of Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization is the only real way to increase your PageRank. It's not an easy task, but if you want a presence on the web, this is the way to go.

Keyword Content

Keywords are the words pulled from your content for searches. It matters how many keywords, where they are, if they're used in sentences, titles and headings on your site.

Backlink Sources

Web directories are a long used place to get backlinks and traffic. Most won't be worth the effort, but some are. With Squidoo lenses, you'll find it tought to get accepted into many directories, but your own hosted web site may have a better chance.

A Little About Tags on Squidoo

Squidoo tags...they're elusive and easy to add, but how do you use them? Conflicting opinions are abound on Squidoo, covered here on SquidUtils and the lens below:

Thanks for helping me sort out Google's page rank!
(I hope I am not leaving this message twice; I was distracted into checking some pages with Google's page rank tool.)

GypsyGirl68-- it could be a few things. 1. Are you on your home page? What's the pagerank info of that page? Other pages may not have a PR, it depends which page is being linked to the most. 2. How many links do you have to your site? Squidoo is a good place to get some links going into your site.

I hope this helps.
