Facts And Fallacies About Pain and Painkillers
Over the last 50 years we've become a society that has bought the BS that there is a pill for everything. Many still believe that, but there is a growing number who have come to realize that first of all pills made of chemicals are poison and that keeping their use to a minimum is beneficial and life expanding.
But what about when we're in pain, we'll do most anything to make it stop. Our vulnerability is at its height and we demand relief. So what happens when the pain is recurring and the need for relief is continuous. That will be the focus of this lens.

Do Painkillers Kill Just Pain?
Painkillers are supposed to kill pain. But do they stop there? For many, it's the beginning of an addiction that can last the rest of of a person's life. Sadly for some, their life is shortened. The media and Talking Heads have been involved in a lot of speculation about how various TV and Music Stars might have died. If painkillers were involved, it really makes these stories very sad. One could speculate, and with good reason, that an addiction to painkillers could lead to the the beginning of a downward slide into abuse of prescription drugs and other drugs as well.Think abut what painkillers do. They are drugs that deaden senses to the point that you feel no pain. But what about the condition that caused the pain to begin with. They do nothing to fix the problem, so if the condition persist, so does the need for more and often stronger painkillers. That amounts to a pain and drug cycle with no way out. Is that the best we can expect from modern medicine?
I should point out here that OTC or over the counter drugs can be just as dangerous especially over time as the chemicals tend to bio-accumulate within your system, overwhelming your body's ability to excrete the toxins efficiently. As a result these excess chemicals tend to settle in the brain, blood, tissues and bones causing all kinds of problems.
Let me point out that whenever there is pain, there is an underlying cause. So it makes no sense to treat the symptom and then do nothing about cause. Also, drugs are unnatural to the body and all have a level of toxicity that effect the body. When you mix different drugs the problem can be magnified by an order of magnitude. The mixture is referred to as a cocktail. Now how many times have we heard of someone dying of a drug cocktail?
It's time people figure out that:
drugs of any kind are toxic
the body will suffer effects beyond the scope of the treatment, the severity of which varies from person to person
other vital organs like the brain, liver, kidneys and digestive system often are effected, leading to other problems.
There are natural things that serve to rebuild the body to defend against all degenerative disease and inflammation, the problem is, you are not likely to hear about it from your doctor.
Also, you will not hear anything about alternatives in the media, because it reduces the amount of drugs sold, and reduces encounters with the medical system, and keeps you healthier.
Let's consider how drugs and medical care fit into the current health debate. We should know that there are interests that stand to loose if the current system changes. So we should not expect the truth from these special interests. It's really up to us to be smart and educate ourselves about these issues, about pharmaceutical drugs and their effects on your health, short and long term.
You should know these facts:
Drugs don't cure diseases
Drugs don't really heal diseases
Drugs only treat the symptoms
Remember painkillers are unnatural and come with undesirable side effects. Don't Believe me? Just watch a drug commercial and notice all the cautions and disclaimers at the end. I makes me ask, "Why would anyone take that stuff?"

Inflammation The Silent Assasin
When you sprain an ankle, the pain you feel is a result of the injury and subsequently inflammation will occur. That's pretty straight forward and understandable. Your ankle may swell and hurt for a while, but you expect that swelling to go down and the pain to eventually subside. But what about other conditions internally that cause pain, is it also inflammation? Recent research suggest that it is. In fact, there is often at minimum a low grade inflammation going on in our bodies all the time.Toxic pollutants are everywhere, in our water, food, and the environment where we live, work and play.
Actually, inflammation is a response to all manner of injury i.e. stresses, emotional, physical, and mental. It has to be understood that attacks at the cellular level is at the root of all degenerative disease and discomfort. Healthy cells get attacked by toxins and free radicals and the inflammation process is a response to that attack.
At the cellular level is where everything takes place. New cells are born, old cells die, toxic contamination occurs and so on. Keeping cells healthy will control all diseases and chronic conditions.
This is a quantum leap in understanding from just 10 years ago.Scientists are now drawing links to a variety of chronic conditions many of which fly under the radar until such time as a physical indication arises:
All Types Of Pain
Heart Disease
Diabetes
Cancer
Alzheimer's Disease
Gum Disease
Fibromyalgia
Asthma
Arthritis
Autoimmune Diseases
Neurological Disorders
Respiratory Problems
At the lower levels, you may not see or feel the effects of inflammation . It could over time contribute to the formation of plaque in blood vessels, play a role in Alzheimer's disease, destroy ligaments and tendons as well as joint cartilage, and so on.
The more we learn about cellular biology, the more control we can have over disease and inflammation, and it's warning signs.
