Paint Your Toenails With The Best

Painting toenails is fun and exciting but there is correct procedure to follow to achieve the best results.

Step 1. The best time to paint your toenails is after a shower or bath or you can soak you feet for 10 mins to prepare them for a manicure.

Step 2. Cut your nails straight across and file away the rough edges.

Step 3. Clean your toenails with a nail polish remover to remove any old nail polish or dirt. Add toe separators if you wish before applying nail polish.

Step 4. Add a clear base coat to your toenails.This protects the nails from the harsh chemicals of constant use of nail polish and like in any painting gives you a smooth surface to work on.

Step 5. Add first coat of the colour of your choice,wait until dry and repeat the process.

Step 6. Once your toenails are dry,finish with a top coat of clear nail polish to add extra gloss and to protect the actual nail polish.
This step is entirely up to you as you might not want this extra gloss finish.

Painting nails and toenails goes all the way back to Ancient Egyptian Culture.In those days they use a reddish-brown stain from henna which they used to colour their nails and finger tips.

Within Egyptian culture, the depth of colour used signified the social order you were in.

The Queens that ruled, wore dark red,and it is know that Queen Nefertiti coloured her nails and toenails in ruby-red where as Cleopatra favored Crimson.

The lower the social order the lighter the colour.Women of a lower class were only allowed to colour their nails a pale colour,if at all.

Spring and Summer colours
In spring and summer it is always nice to wear bright and also cool colours.

Hot pinks and light pinks look great.Cappuccino and whites always look cool and elegant on a hot summers day.
Shades of blue are in this season and bright orange and yellows look great on the beach in summer time.

Autumn and Winter Colours
One usually goes for somewhat darker colours in these months.

Red, Burgundy,Browns,Purples and Black all look great in these cold months of the year.

Although you probably will not be showing your toes so much in these month,it is still nice to have a bit of colour on your toes for home and bed.

This also can be a good time to give you toenails a good rest from nail polish for at least a couple of days to a week to let them recover.

Colours For all Year Round

Red you can wear anytime,day or night,Summer or winter,it is a stunning,sexy,sensual colour.
Black is back.
Light pinks and neutral colours can be worn all the time too.
