*Drying wood for use as firewood
*Heating wood to the point of pyrolysis to produce charcoal
*For annealing, fusing and deforming glass, or fusing metallic oxide paints to the surface of glass
*For cremation (at high temperature)
*Drying of tobacco leaves
*Firing of material, such as clay, to form ceramics
*Drying malted barley for brewing
*Category: Smelting#Copper_smelting - :_kilns|Smelting ore to extract metal
*Heating limestone with clay to make cement

Building Kiln Floor
This is the final preparation of the floor base with fireclay and setting the high heat duty firebrick pitched and dry to make the floor of this new woodfired pottery kiln. Quite a bit more has been completed with the chimney and back walls defined. Stay tuned 'cause it will freeze soon and more work will have to wait till warm days.
