Moving Stealthily on the course will be one of the most important skills you learn as a paintball sniper. Most snipers operate in the extreme forward flanks or even behind enemy lines so moving undetected is vital. Combining a Ghillie suit with attached branches, leaves or shrubs from fauna found on the course will help you on your path to invisibility.

Rubber soled shoes and attention to detail when you move will also help you get about silently. When you are moving, try to place your footsteps on dirt or rock, avoiding leaves and branches where possible. Try to assess your environment and use the features of your surroundings to mask your profile as you move. Its also important that your paintball sniper marker is attached in a manner that is silent and is configured to make as little noise as possible when you move. Choosing a paintball marker with a matte or camo finish will also improve your odds.

Often forgotten, but incredibly important when it comes to stealth is your hearing. To remain truly stealthy you must be able to detect enemies in your area well before they detect you. You should pay very close attention to naturally occuring sounds in the course area and be constantly vigilant for anything out of the ordinary, follow your instincts and always err on the side of caution. The paintball masks which are required for safety reasons can seal the ear region and cutoff sounds at lower levels so its important to choose a good mask that doesn't affect your hearing too much.
