Fine Art Prints and Posters Made from my Original Landscape Paintings

I decided to write a lens about my favorite painting subject, the landscape painting. Over the years I've painted a lot of different subjects from portraits to still lifes but I always come back to the landscape painting. I think it has to do with the intense feeling I get when I experience one of nature's beautiful treasures. I have no facts to support this, but I think I have a heightened sense of appreciation for these natural outdoor scenes.

Another benefit of painting landscapes is the opportunity to get out of my studio and take my easel and painting supplies out on location. Basically, this is painting outdoors or "en plein air" as the French put it. Painting outdoors and experiencing one of natures visual wonders creates some of the same pleasurable feelings that going fishing or playing golf does for me. The bottom line is that I really enjoy the outdoors.

Now, let's get back to why I created this lens. The reason that I created this lens is that a number of people have told me they would like to buy one of my original landscape paintings but they couldn't afford it. Others have wanted to buy one of the landscape paintings that I no longer had because it had been sold. As a result, I have decided to create this lens and feature fine art prints and posters of both my available landscape paintings and my sold landscape paintings.

The new NBC TV Show "Prime Suspect" staring Maria Bello, premiered Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 9PM CT. The show recently purchased prints of three of my Paintings of Ireland - shown below - to use on one of the sets of the show (the set of Maria Bello's father's house). While the dates of the episodes these images will appear on are not known, they told me that they will be shooting from this set several times. So far I have not seen the paintings in the one episode they shot at the father's house.

I hope you enjoy them and will come back and visit from time to time.

I watched most of the episodes of the UK Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren. I loved it. I didn't know there was a USA version as well. I'll have to give it a try.

Thanks for your comment. I have never seen the British version but heard wonderful things about it. Much to the disappointment of many faithful viewers, the American version has been cancelled. The last 2 episodes will be shown back to back Saturday, January 22.

Hello Daniel, I enjoyed to take a tour through the landscape looking at your great paintings. "After the rain" and the Saint Charles city paintings are my favorites for their beautiful warm colurs.

Colorado Mountain Stream II

I love the fall when colors are their most vivid and I love mountains and streams. I painted the original Colorado Mountain Stream in 2009 and I have been wanting to paint another fall mountain stream painting for some time. I went back through my photos and found one which inspired me and now I have completed the second landscape painting in this series. This landscape painting is framed in a gold plein air frame.

Saint Charles Cityscape

I have always enjoyed seeing paintings of cityscapes and wanted to paint a new one. I waited to paint this scene until I could get some good photos in the early evening when it was raining. This way the reflections of the lights are more pronounced and interesting. The area is Main Street in Old St. Charles, Missouri, very close to the river. This scene only exists on my canvas as I combined two photos from different parts of the street to create this image. See original paintings at Daniel Fishback Fine Art.

Saint Charles Cityscape II Landscape Painting PRINT

This is the second in a series of St Charles Cityscape paintings. Like the others the reference photographs that were used were taken after a rain in the early evening. I wanted to capture the light reflecting off of the wet cobblestones. That type of light causes the colors to be very vibrant and warm. I created the people and animals. They were not in the photographs. This landscape painting is framed in a hand made solid walnut frame.

This is an original acrylic painting on recycled plywood board. The board came from a false floor that was dismantled. I didn't want to waste the wood so I cut it into different size pieces. This picture was painted from a photograph of one of my favorite trout streams. It is located in Bennett Springs State Park, Missouri. This original painting is sold but prints and posters are available. See original paintings at Daniel Fishback Fine Art.

After The Rain Landscape Painting PRINT

After The Rain Landscape

I took the photo from which I painted this piece one evening after quite a rain had fallen on the area. The rain ended for the day and the sun came out but was setting as I took the photo. The puddle in the foreground was ablaze with the reflection of the red barn. The air was clear after the rain the sky was free of any clouds. It was a beautiful scene that just beckoned me to photograph and then paint it. The painting measures 20 x 18 x 1.5 inches. It is a gallery wrapped canvas and I carried the painting onto the sides and top. This original painting has been sold but prints and posters are available. Saint Charles Cityscape III Landscape Painting PRINT

Saint Charles Cityscape III

This is a scene of Old Town Saint Charles Missouri. In preparation for the painting, I waited for a gentle evening rain where I could take photos that would reflect brilliant pools of light. The scene is very festive with people on their way to restaurants where they can enjoy a good meal and a nice bottle of wine. The colors are very saturated due to the low light conditions creating a feeling of warmth to the scene. This original painting is sold but prints and posters are available. See original paintings at Daniel Fishback Fine Art.

I painted this painting from one of a number of photos I took this year at Sioux Passage Park. Sioux Passage is one of my favorite places near my home. I often ride my bike over to the park and ride through it and down to the Missouri River. The park is very hilly so I get a good workout. I usually take some watercolors or a sketch pad with me and sketch or paint a couple of scenes. My photos were taken when the leaves on the trees were still green so I had to use my imagination to create the autumn colors. I really love these kinds of scenes where trees and branches are reflected in the calm water. Give me a spot with a stream, lake, or river on it and I'm happy. View Along The Great River Road

This landscape painting was created from a photograph I took while driving home one night from my Elsah Illinois art gallery. I couldn't resist reaching for my camera and pulled over to snap this beautiful sunset. The biggest challenge for me with this painting was to recreate this dramatic cloud formation without making the clouds look heavy. I took my time and worked until I got the desired effect. This landscape painting is framed in a beautiful Spanish Black custom frame.
