I am a big believer in color. I always try to make my lenses colorful. I also used to do copper enameling with my mother, although I don't have time for it now. I would like to learn digital art someday to see what I could create. Your art feels very peaceful to me.

Ditto on the purple star! Well deserved! I learned a great deal from this lens. I never knew about painting in layers and how a color under another one influences the way the final piece of art looks.
  • weavz Apr 30, 2010 @ 6:27 pm | delete
Thank you and I am glad that you found my lens interesting.

Great and interesting lens! I liked your "Morning Hits the Rocks" and "Reflections of the Past" paintings the best because they are very sharp and detailed looking.

I'm very impressed by your artwork. I'm glad you added the gallery so I could see lots at one time. Faded door is probably my favorite, but I really do like them all. Your style reminds me of a famous artist - I forget his name at present, but I'll be back as soon as it comes to me. Fantastic article here. Love it and I will take the advice as soon as I make time to paint again.
  • HorseAndPony Apr 20, 2010 @ 3:22 pm | delete

  • KarenTBTEN Apr 13, 2010 @ 10:49 pm | delete
I like how you illustrated your point by making the same picture over again in different color combinations.
  • Flynn_the_Cat Apr 13, 2010 @ 5:51 pm | delete
Awesome. Colour is my favourite part of paintings :D (and I think it's the part I'm best at >.> ) so this lens definitely interested me!
Found this interesting article on neutral grey a couple of days ago - http://chiseledrocks.com/main/musings/topics/thecolorgray
  • weavz Apr 13, 2010 @ 6:11 pm | delete
Thanks Flynn. I looked at the article on neutral grey and it was very interesting. Amazing how certain colors make a hole in your painting. I find that when in doubt add more color. There is a softening effect to the colors when they dry and if something is a little too strong I can easily take it down a notch.
  • Flynn_the_Cat Apr 13, 2010 @ 8:18 pm | delete
Haha, the joy of painting digitally is I never having to worry about it changing as it dries XD
  • weavz Apr 13, 2010 @ 11:35 pm | delete
I am going to start a list of articles and blogs for digital artists too. Thank you for the idea.
  • MiaBellezza Apr 13, 2010 @ 4:11 pm | delete
    Your art is simply mesmerizing!
  • JaguarJulie Apr 13, 2010 @ 11:56 am | delete
Wow, you know one of my sisters is the artist in our family and she has adopted "color concepts" as her direction for her art. While it is quite colorful, I really prefer her other styles of art. I'm into abstract, expressionism, impressionism and cubism ... and fantasy too.
  • weavz Apr 13, 2010 @ 12:24 pm | delete
Thanks for stopping by. With art, there is no right or wrong, just different ideas to explore. Many artists use a subdued palette and produce wonderful paintings. I think color is another tool in the paint box to be used by the artist. Would love to see your sisters work.
  • d-artist Apr 13, 2010 @ 11:09 am | delete
OH WOW WOW!!! I love this lens! GREAT art and information...I am doing more plein air paintings and wanted to find a way of painting from my norm, this is a very informative lens...thanks for sharing! 5*
  • weavz Apr 13, 2010 @ 11:41 am | delete
Thanks d. I have been painting plein air for a couple of years and am addicted to it too. Painting out of your comfort zone isn't easy but it can lead to great changes. Good luck.
  • Photahsiamirabel Apr 10, 2010 @ 3:49 am | delete
I love it.... Colour is so important in art and your paintings just glow! 5* lens with beautiful work. Good luck :D
