What is PAL NTSC Converter?
Different countries have different systems for Television broadcasting. There are three color-encoding systems. These are NTSC, SECAM and PAL analogue television systems. All of these three systems differ in the frame rates, the resolution of the video images as well as the modulation of the audio signal. Sometimes, it becomes necessary to covert a video in one of these formats to another format. For example, converting a video in the PAL format to NTSC format requires the use of a device called the PAL to NTSC converter. The PAL (phase alternating line) and the NTSC (National Television System Committee) formats have a few differences. They include:
1. The two formats differ in their frame rates. NTSC has a rate of 60 fps (frames per second) whereas PAL has a rate of 50 fps. These rates are due to the frequency of the power in the respective countries. In the US, the frequency is 60Hz whereas in the countries that use PAL it is 50Hz. This variation may appear to be negligible but changing one video format to the other requires the change in the frame rate.
2. The NTSC receivers correct colors in a manual way by using tint control. If this method is not carried out correctly, the colors will be faulty in the display of the video. On the other hand, PAL systems correct the errors in the colors automatically by reversing the phases.
3. NTSC is mostly used in the Unite States whereas PAL is used in countries in Europe, Australia as well as Asian countries.
4. Considering the fact that PAL videos have a more number of lines per second than the NTSC videos. PAL has 625 lines per second whereas NTSC has 525 lines per second. This leads to a higher resolution for the PAL videos and therefore, the pictures have better quality.
So, what do these differences mean? One, a television made in Europe for use with the PAL system will not work in the United States where the broadcasters use the NTSC video format. Two, if a movie is in one format then it cannot play on a video player with a format different from the movie. However, this is now easily dealt with because there are kits that can convert a video from one format to the other. A good example of such a kit is the pal ntsc converter

With this kit, it means that you can move with an American TV to any of the PAL countries and still be able to receive the TV channels in that country. This converter has some great specifications.
