All about the art
Pamela Fleming's creations are individually hand sculptured in hand colored Porcelain clay. (Not polymer clay) The colors are achieved by working chemical stains into the porcelain using a technique called nerikomi. The porcelain figures are high fired in a kiln to 2400 degrees. Hand glazed and re-fired to a fine porcelain china. 14k gold is then applied to some of the artwork.Pamela Fleming's creations are individually hand sculptured in hand colored Porcelain clay. All work is completed and signed by the artist
My sculptures first start out as a simple block of porcelain clay. Molds are never used to create my work. Each piece takes on its own personality as I sculpt, they seem to come to life and show me what they would like to become. I start out with a concept, and as I work each critter comes to life. I never use molds or castings. Because of this the pieces are heavier than traditional cast work. They are solid porcelain. The colors are achieved by working chemical stains into the porcelain using a technique called nerikomi.
The porcelain figures are high fired in a kiln, Hand glazed, and re-fired to a fine porcelain china at a temperature of 2400 degrees. The colors and glazes are not painted on, but are fired on in a kiln and will not wash off, it is not polymer clay which has been baked in a home oven, but fine porcelain, like your best dishes.
I love the fact that each sculpture is a true One Of A Kind (Ooak) and that they can not be duplicated. I love to create animals in the fantasy realm, and I also enjoy making Christmas ornaments of dog and cat breeds. I am an award winning artist who has been sculpting in porcelain since 1990, (formerly known as "Pamela's Paws Porcelain"), and have exhibited in art shows in Texas and Florida, and my work has been in galleries throughout the US. I thank you again for your interest in my work.

Anyone out there?
Who sculpts in Porcelain? Colored fired Clay?
I used to know several other artists, they have all either retired or disappeared. If any one else is out there doing anything like this let me know. We can share info and tips. My ETSY shop
