Why Pet Placemats
I like pet placemats because they mark a designated area for my cat's feeding bowls. I recently read that to help make your indoor cats' life more interesting, that it's a good idea to put treats in different locations for your cat to find. I tried this with my cat, and she just sat by her food area wondering what I was doing. So I decided, lets stick to what already works. And plus I don't have to clean up cat licks elsewhere!
Another reason that I like pet placemats is that I can easily lift the edge and wipe off the crumbs onto a plate or towel with a damp paper towel. Also when I mop the kitchen floor, I don't mop the placemat. I like the idea that the pet food serving place is just cleaned up with a plain water dampened paper towel.

Other uses for pet placemats
In the winter months, Sugar was no longer interested in laying on her spare pet placemat that was on top of her climbing toy; so I placed it under the humidifier; it works like a charm. Thanks Sugar! I know she likes to share, well at least some things. : )
