The Characters
Feisty Maggie Ryan is played by Christina Ricci. Her character refuses to take no for an answer and her sarcastic tongue helps her to survive.Ricci has starred in many movies and television shows including the Addams Family movies as the delightfully odd Wednesday Addams a role she played as a younster.
Naive Laura Cameron is played by Margot Robbie. Laura bolts from her wedding and takes off with big sister Kate to fly to friendly skies of Pan Am.
Ted Vanderway, the playboy played by Micahel Mosley as starred in many roles on tv and movies. His first love however, is theater.
Colette Valois played by Karine Vanesse is a kind person who is also vulnerable. Karine is an award winning Canadian actress with numerous acting credits.
Dean Lowery is played by Mike Vogel. Dean is the plane's captain who is hard working and responsible, as well as charming.
Mike has appeared in both television and movies.
Kate Cameron the older sister of Laura, and a true adventurer is played by Kelli Garner. Kelli has many film and stage credits.
Robbie is an Australian actress who is making a splash in the US in her role on Pan Am.
Pan Am Preview
The Pilot
In the pilot episode we meet the crew of the Majestic, the Pan Am plane which is to embark on its maiden flight. The flight attendants are first seen weighing in for their flight and the episode shows the viewer a series of flashbacks which lead back to the present giving the viewer a little bit of character history.
Maggie ( Christina Ricci) is the new purser, because Dean's ( Mike Vogel) former girlfriend the previous purser Bridget, has bolted from Pan Am. Laura has run away from her wedding day looking for adventure, her sister Kate helping her along the way. Colette runs into a man she was in love with and finds out he has a wife and son. Let the adventures begin!

Episode 2- We'll Always Have Paris
Dean rescues Colette who has a flat tire on the way to the airport. Laura has more trouble with the inspector before the flight, but is rescued by the always outspoken Maggie. Kate receives an assignment from Richard ( she works undercover for the CIA) just before the flight and Kate and Laura are surprised when their mother shows up on the flight to Paris and tries to get Laura back with her former fiance. Let the games begin!
Episode 3- Ich Bin Ein Berliner
Next up- A Trip to Berlin where some bad memories confront Colette, JFK watching for Maggie and Kate is thrown into an intriguing assignment. Kate's contact is being followed by the German police, Colette remembers the Navi invasion of France and the President's words inspire all.Episode 4- Eastern Exposure- Rangoon
This episode focuses on Ted's background as a military pilot and how a plane he was responsible for crashed. Although there was mechanical error, the crash was blamed on Ted and led to his honorable discharge from the military. We also learn that Ted's father knew the truth about the failed slight but wouldn't help his son because of his own selfishness.
Episode 5- One Coin in A Fountain
Laura tries to get back the engagement ring she pawned so she could give it back to her ex-fiance. On the trip to London, Dean is intrigued by a passenger, Ginny, and both Maggie and Kate start chatting with Niko, a handsome passenger. Later Kate learns that her next undercover job involves Niko, a man she has become interested in.Episode 6- The Genuine Article
Dean continues seeing Ginny for a brief time even though he learns she is the mistress of a Pan Am executive. Kate continues to see Niko and they have a great time, even though she sees he is very upset over happenings in his country. Maggie manages to get herself and Laura into trouble when they purchase stolen goods ( including a watch Laura wanted to buy for Ted who got her engagement ring back by trading his Rolex for it).Episode 7- Truth or Dare

Episode 8- Unscheduled Departure
On a trip to Caracas, the crew is sidelined by a passenger with a heart attack. They stop to get help in Haiti ( Miami is in the mist of hurricane Ginny) but are confronted with a short runway and violence. The passenger dies before they can get him some medicine, they fight over a young stowaway Colette wants to bring on board, and the passengers have to leave their luggage behind in order for the plane to lose some of its weight so it can take off in a hurry when rebels with guns show up. A great episode, not to miss! ( Oh and there's a cute little kiss at the end)Pictured- Caracas
Episode 9-Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Kate's not happy to be spying in one last mission, but does so because her job is threatened. Will she come to regret her decision? With Dean and Colette playing hookie to be together, an older substitute captain flies Pan Am and immediately give Laura a hard time. A friend of Maggie gives a Senator grief on the plane and Maggie and the Senator later have an interesting meeting. After meeting Dean's parents, Colette is upset when Dean's dad keeps asking about his former girlfriend, but she and Dean still end up being affectionate in the barn!A Little Ted and Laura
Episode 10- Secrets and Lies
Kate's contact with British intelligence tells her to run for her own safety, while he takes the fall for shooting the "jeweler" in self defense. Old spy, and Dean's ex girlfriend Bridget now safely re-appears putting a kink in Dean's and Collette's romance. Maggie is confused Congressman Chris when her feelings for him get in the way of her beliefs, and Ted decides he has feelings for Amanda, while Laura realizes she has feelings for Ted!Episode 11- Diplomatic Relations
Dean has 2nd thoughts after spending the night with Bridget, while Colette is heartbroken when she finds out the truth. Congressman Rawlings finds out Maggie wrote the article about him and breaks up with her. Ted proposes to Amanda who says yes and who then comforts Maggie and kisses her.A Little Dean and Colette from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Episode 12- New Frontiers
Maggie tells Ted that Amanda kissed her. Ted then confronts Amanda who says she is more drawn to women, but still loves him and wants an open marriage. Laura is mortified to find some old nude photos of her are on display but soon feels empowered when she realizes that Andy Warhol wants to buy them.Maggie is approached by Captain Broyles who wants her help in a smuggling operation, and Dean tries to win back Colette.
Episode 13- Romance Languages
Romance Languages was suppose to be aired between episode 6 and 7, so things can seem a bit confusing. That said, a little about the episode. Dean breaks up with Ginny, who goes a little crazy in response. Colette is charmed by a precocious boy traveling alone, and Kate spends some time with Niko, before being warned to stay away from him.Episode 14- 1964
Colette continues to be wooed by Omar, the Prince, who checks into her background and finds out she is Jewish. Because of this, he can not marry her. Ted breaks up with Amanda and tells Laura how he feels about her and is surprised she feels the same. Kate gets caught in some intrigue with a shooting victim and a double agent and Maggie works with Broyles in a little smuggling game.Amanda tells Ted she is pregnant, but is this a ploy to get him to marry her ( I do believe so ! ) That's it for season 1.
Season 1
Pan Am's first season is set to end on Sunday Febraury 19th. Let's hope ABC renews this great show and puts it at a better time slot! Stay gtuned and if you like Pan Am, let ABC know.

Hope that Pan Am is renewed for next season. It was a fun show to watch particularly for those of us who remember the 1960's, It is a refreshing change from all the reality tv shows and the sitcoms. If you enjoyed the show and wish for it to continue you can contact ABC.
