It's All About Panasonic Plasma HDTVs
Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P42G10 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV Review
Great price, great picture
If you're looking for a great 42-inch flat screen TV you should really consider buying this 1080p plasma HDTV from Panasonic. Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P42G10Pros:
- Out-of-the-box picture quality is great but after you play with the settings a little you get vibrant, crisp, bright and real-life colors.
- The THX mode really works. Watching movies and TV shows will never be the same again.
- Easy-to-use and intuitive menus.
- Very wide viewing angle. The picture quality looks awesome even when you're watching from the sides.
- Low energy consumption.
- Small frame so it cat fit in small cabinets.
- High contrast ratio; 40,000:1 which makes black colors exactly black and whites exactly white.
- Sub $1,000 price tag and this is a 42-inch HDTV folks!
Cons:
- So-so quality audio. No thanks to the designer who somehow think that pointing the speakers downward is a good idea.
- Remote layout is not so good. The most used functions used the small buttons while the rarely used ones use big buttons.
- Non-swivel TV stand.
- No headphone jack.
Conclusion:
Stop hesitating and get this HDTV! You know you want it...

Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P54G10 54-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV Review
If you've been reading reviews for 54-inch HDTV you will most likely stumbled upon this one. Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P54G10Pros:
- Remarkable picture quality out of the box. Watching Blu-rays is a very exciting experience since the pictures are so detailed and natural. Up-converted DVDs look great too.
- Easy to set up.
- Viera Link works well. You don't need to go out to rent a DVD since you can have it streamed.
- Low energy consumption. Comparable to LCD with similar size.
- Antiglare coating on the screen actually works. Even if you put this in a brightly lit room you will have no problems with glare.
- The Viera Cast feature is a nice additional feature. The TV has a built-in web interface so you can watch online content (movies, pictures, weather) directly from your television.
- Great price. Last time I check it's about $1,600 while a comparable 52-inch LCD HDTV cost more than $2,000
- Good sound quality.
Cons:
- Only 3 HDMI inputs. May not be enough if you got plenty of other gadgets to hook up.
- Non-swivel stand.
