The Pangya/Albatross 18 Item Guide

In this lens you will find a short description and tips for the various active items ("passive items" comming soon) used in Albatross18. This lens is meant as a quick reference for beginners and advanced players alike and for those interested, contains the price (in astros) of each item currently in Season 3 of Albatross18 as well as a quick reference to the actual cost (if applicable) of each item too. Have fun reading! And please rate this lens if you like it, as well as visit my other Albatross18/Pangya related lens too!

Curve Mastery

100 Pang

Arguably one of the least used items in Albatross18, the Curve Mastery temporarily maximizes your curve statistic for your next shot. The problem with this is not with the benefit (you can really hit some fantastic curves) is that the Curve Mastery is only useful on a few holes in Albatross18. Furthermore, if you can hit the Power Curve special shot consistantly...there is no reason for you to carry any Curve Mastery items with you. However, like the Miracle Sign, the Curve Mastery can be used to create Papel Lottery tickets in Brie's Cauldron.

Duostar Lucky Pangya

30 Astros/Pack of 10 (~$1.50)

Using one of these increases the width of your Pangya zone on your power meter. This gives you a better chance to hit Pangya on your next shot. Like its generic counterpart, the Duostar Lucky Pangya can be very important if you want to ensure your next shot is a tomahawk, cobra, spike, or super tomahawk. And unlike its pang counterpart, the Duostar Lucky Pangya never fails.

Duostar Nerve Stabilizer

25 Astros/Pack of 10 (~$1.25)

Like its pang counterpart, a Duostar Nerve Stabilizer will temporarily maximize your control, slowing down the swing meter for your next shot. This can also increase the chance that you will hit Pangya on your next shot. But unlike the two types of Lucky Pangyas, your Pangya zone on your power meter does not increase. And unlike its generic counterpart, the Duostar Nerve Stabilizer never fails.

Generic Lucky Pangya

40 Pang Each

The Generic Lucky Pangya increases the width of your Pangya zone on your power meter, increases the probability of hitting Pangya on your next shot. However, unlike its Duostar equivalent, the Generic Lucky Pangya has a 30% failure rate.

Generic Nerve Stabilizer

30 Pang Each

Using a Generic Nerve Stabilizer allows you to temporarily maximize your control statistic for the next shot. This means your swing meter slows down significantly, allowing you a greater chance of hitting Pangya. However, unlike its Duostar equivalent, the Generic Nerve Stabilizer has a 30% failure rate.

Duostar PS

Made Through Brie's Cauldron (3x Duostar Nerve Stabilizer + 5x Generic Lucky Pangya + 5x Strength Booster)

One of the three combo items, the Duostar PS is the equivalent of using a Strength Booster and a Duostar Nerve Stabilizer for your next shot. However, using "two" items comes at a cost, as many items are needed for Brie's Cauldron to create just one Duostar PS. Furthermore, you can only create the Duostar PS if you have attained the rank of Junior or above.

Duostar LS

Made Through Brie's Cauldron (Requires 3x Duostar Lucky Pangya + 5x Generic Nerve Stabilizer + 3x Generic Lucky Pangya)

One of the three combo items, the Duostar LS is the equivalent of using a Duostar Lucky Pangya and a Duostar Nerve Stabilizer. However, using "two" items comes at a cost, as many items are needed for Brie's Cauldron to create just one Duostar LS. Furthermore, you can only create the Duostar LS if you have attained the rank of Junior or above.

Duostar SS

Made Through Brie's Cauldron (Requires 3x Duostar Nerve Stabilizers + 5x Generic Lucky Pangya + 3x Spin Mastery)

One of the three combo items, the Duostar SS is the equivalent of using a Duostar Nerve Stabilizer and a Spin Mastery for your next shot. However, using "two" items comes at a cost, as many items are needed for Brie's Cauldron to create just one Duostar SS. Furthermore, you can only create the Duostar SSif you have attained the rank of Junior or above.

Strength Booster

130 Pang Each

Probably the most common item used in Albatross18, the Strength Booster allows you to instantly use a power, tomahawk, spike, or cobra shot. Thus, using a Strength Booster increases the distance of your next shot by at least 10yds. Unfortunately, the Strength Booster does not add to your combo meter and thus can not be used to execute one of the various super shots.

Mulligan Rose

25 Astros/Pack of 10 (~$1.25)

First, carrying this item into any versus match is pointless. The Mulligan Rose can only be used in tournaments. This item allows you to take back a shot that has landed out of bounds or lands in a water hazard, making this item very useful if you blow a risky shot. However, the Mulligan Rose won't work if your shot lands in the rough, bunker, or other hazard that does not incur a stroke penalty. Keep this in mind before thinking the Mulligan Rose is a "get one shot for free" card.

Miracle Sign

180 Pang Each

Probably the most expensive active item in terms of Pang, the Miracle Sign literally allows you to see the path your putt will take. This is extremely useful for beginners getting the hang of putting in Albatross18, although advanced users will probably pack other active items for use on the various courses instead of packing Miracle Signs. Keep in mind Miracle Signs do have a use for advanced users...along with other active items they can be converted to Papel Lottery tickets or Power Milks in Brie's cauldron. And although they are 180pang in the store, one can on occasion find them being sold for less in the PSquare shops.

Power Milk

Made Through Brie's Cauldron (1x Strength Booster + 2x Miracle Signs)

A very useful item, the Power Milk can only be obtained via special events or through Brie's Cauldron. Like the Strength Booster, the Power Milk allows you to immediately use one of the various power shots. However, as the Power Milk adds a power shot to your combo meter, if you already have a stored power shot, using a Power Milk allows you to immediately execute one of the various super shots. This makes the Power Milk much more useful than the Strength Booster, and depending on how you use it, potentially more useful than a Power Potion.

Power Potion

70 Astros/Pack of 80 (~$3.50/pack)

Using the Power Potion increases the distance of your next shot by 15yds. In this manner, the Power Potion is superior to the Strength Booster. However, the Power Potion may or may not be superior to the Power Milk as the Power Milk adds to your combo meter, allowing you to possibly execute a Super Power or Tomahawk shot which can exceed distance boost given by using a Power Potion.

Power Calipers

22 Astros/Pack of 10 (~$1.10/pack)

Power Calipers allow you to see the distance your shot will travel at a given power on your power meter. Simply hover your mouse cursor over the power meter and you will see how far your shot will travel if you were to use that amount of power. You can also use your mouse for your next shot too. Keep in mind the Power Calipers only give you the distance your ball will travel at a given power and does not account for wind, terrain, or slope conditions, all of which do slightly limit the practical use of Power Calipers on any course.

Safety

50 Astros/Pack of 10 (~$2.50/pack)

One of the newer items in Season 3, the Safety "nullifies" the effect of slope on your next shot. This means if your previous shot landed on a fairway or rough slope, using a safety "flattens" the slope. In other words, your next shot will act like it was hit from a flat surface. Safety's tend to benefit the more advanced players, who are familiar with and experts at the tomahawk-backspin or related shots, as flattening the slope

Silent Wind

28 Astros/Pack of 10 (~$1.40/pack)

The Silent Wind reduces the wind speed for your next shot to 1kph, but does not change the direction of the wind. This is extremely useful for reducing the effects of a strong headwind on your tee or approach shots. In addition, for advanced users, using a Silent Wind to reduce the wind speed makes it easier to successfully chip-in an approach shot.

Spin Mastery

120 Pang Each

Another very useful item, the Spin Mastery temporarily maximizes your spin statistic for your next shot. In order to maximize this benefit, you must hit your next shot with a Power Spin special shot. Combining a Spin Mastery, maximizing your topspin, and then hitting a Power Spin shot, your next shot can roll (depending on the slope) up to 30yds or more. This additional spin distance is very useful for clearing an obstacle, such as a patch of rough or getting that extra distance needed to reach the green.
