Can Anxiety be Life Threatening?
Absolutely not. Because people with anxiety disorders experience symptoms that feel terrifying they often believe they may be life-threatening when in fact they are harmless. Your body is simply setting off a "false alarm" even though no real danger exists.
What Are the Typical Causes of an Anxiety Disorder?
Experts believe several of the contributing factors are a physical overreaction to stress or biological factors, an overload of stress and or lifestyle factors, childhood environment, and genetic factors
An anxiety disorder is caused by a combination of several of these factors working together over a period of time. Usually one factor alone does not result in an anxiety disorder.
Can Anxiety Disorders Be Treated?
Yes. To be effective a long term treatment option should provide an anxiety sufferer; reduced or eliminated physical symptoms, correction of anxious thought patterns, and addressing avoidance behavior.
Are Prescription Drugs an Effective Cure For Anxiety?
Although prescription drugs can be helpful in reducing anxiety symptoms they do not address the root causes of anxiety. To effectively cure anxiety long term, it is important to incorporate lifestyle strategies to reduce stress and to change anxiety-promoting thought patterns, and address anxious behaviors.
Is it Possible to Expect a Complete Recovery?
Yes. By combining proper treatment, change, and effort, it is not unreasonable to experience a complete recovery from anxiety.
