Panic Attacks and Anxiety
Anxiety can lead to full-blown anxiety attacks, always known as panic attacks. People who have suffered from panic attack have seen that it is sudden surges of overwhelming fear that that comes without warning and without any obvious reason.
It feels like a heart attack, the person may feel chest pains, have trouble catching their breath, feel lightheadedness and out of control, fear that they are going to die.
However, you won't die from a panic attack, and the problem can be prevented----Medication can be prescribed, relaxation techniques can be used, and counseling can be sought.
When you suffer from panic attack, your doctor will prescribe an antidepressant for you. However, it will take three weeks the antidepressant to become effective. To avoid this situation, your doctor will add a benzodiazepine in your medicine, the benzodiazepine can help you to control the anxious feeling, prevent more severe panic attack.
However, benzodiazepine is not safe for long-term use. After the antidepressant takes effect, your doctor will discountinue the benzodiazepine.
Of course, you should also seek counseling. You may require Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) so that you can discontinue the antidepressant and solve your anxious problem completely.
Panic attacks are very scary, so if you suffer from the problem, seek out the treatment to avoid future panic attack.
