Pantry Storage Solutions

I never had to worry about pantry storage until I moved into a place that didn't have enough kitchen cupboard space for my pantry supplies. My solution was that I ended up buying a small cupboard with shelves but I've found that even that doesn't seem to afford enough room. So, I've been investigating storage solutions for my pantry and applying what I've learned.

Need more room for your pantry?

Let's say you have a stand-alone pantry unit like the ones pictured or you simply have enough cabinet space. What now? Well, now it's time to organize it and create more space.
  1. Use baskets. Baskets are an invaluable solution because you can store all those little things in them that are hard to place like small bags of nuts, granola bars, spices, etc.
  2. Turn tables. Do you have multiple bottles of oil and vinegar as well as tons of spices? Try using a turn table so you can reach each of the items easily and without hassle.
  3. Use plastic containers. This is another good solution for certain items. For example, emptying nuts into a container may make them easier to store than bags. You can also find containers that hold cereal, pasta, etc.

Organize the Pantry a Little at a Time

Don't buy all the storage items all at once. Buy just a few items, incorporate them, and then buy more as needed. Less waste that way.
