I like looking online for free and fun things to make out of paper. I have always loved paper dolls, and I also like to making miniatures, collect and sell coloring books, and enjoy making things out of cardboard too.

As a girl, I made paper doll dresses out of old wallpaper books, and even made my own paper dolls. Today, you can find cute paper dolls and dresses you can color yourself for free online.

You can also find dollhouse furniture, little mini items, and other fun things to make online. My favorite site I have found so far is the Raven's Blight site. If you love strange but cool things (like the Adams Family TV show), you will love these printables, that include a haunted house and lots more.

The drawings in this lens, unless otherwise noted, are by OCAL at the Open-Source Clker.com website. They can be downloaded and used for designs or colored - it's totally up to you.

Here is an angel picture I colored online with Photoshop

You can use a photo coloring program to color designs from the Clkr site.

An angel I colored on the computer

I colorized this picture of an angel, and you can, too. All the drawings from the Clkr site are free to download and to color. You can even change them around and add to them, too.

I used this on another of my lenses and thought it would also be perfect here. I really like it.

Here are some great paper doll links

- - paper dolls and costumes you can download for free

And they are completely OK'd to download.
The Scholastic company has four paper dolls complete with outfits to download.
(from the website) 1. The first paper doll is a cornhusk doll, inspired by the My America Colony diary of Elizabeth Barker.
2. The second paper doll is a rag doll inspired by the My America Prairie diary of Meg Wells.
3. The third paper doll is a wooden doll inspired by the My America Civil War diary of Virginia Dickens.
4. The fourth paper doll is a porcelain doll inspired by the My America Immigrant diary of Sofia Monari.

(These dolls go along with the Dear America diary books, but they can be used by themselves too.)
USHS has many dolls to download.
From Pavlova to Florence Nightingale plus baby dolls, these paper dolls are also free to download, and are by several different artists. Sopie, Casilda, and Audrey Hepburn are some of my favorites in this set.
The Doll Reader magazine site re-prints some of their dolls that they had featured in their doll magazine PLUS clothes.
These are very nice. They download to your desktop as pdf files. The doll is also included. You can paste the doll onto cardboard and make a stand for it, using a slit in the doll at the bottom, and a crescent-shaped cardboard stand that fits. The doll will stand up and then you can put the different clothes on it. Any kind of thin to medium cardboard you have around the house will do. Shirt cardboard used to be the preferred kind, because it was white on one side and just the right weight.
Chez Beeper Bebe offers two fantastic books - and one is a tiny vintage paper doll treasure book.
You can make two books from the directions on this page. Offered here are:
1. A Little Book of Vintage Paper Dolls
2. A Little Book of Vintage French Paper Crafts

She has everything ready for you to download. The books are little, and precious! They are very well done. I think you will like them too.
The Simplicity Pattern Company offers eight different modern paper dolls and dresses
These dolls and dresses are from the Patty Reed collection. You can actually probably find the patterns to these dresses in the Simplicity catalog too, in case your daughter wants a dress like her new paper doll. The dolls and dresses print out in pdf format. These are high quality too, and all different.
Artist Linda Durbin wants to share all of her one of a kind paper dolls and dresses.
Linda has all kinds of pretty dolls and outfits here to download. You may not sell the dolls and outfits, but you are free to use them and enjoy them. She has traditional dolls, and some unique ones, like an Eggplant doll, a chicken doll, and even gingerbread people.
Enjoy these nine different paper dolls from Meggie Cat!
Meggie Cat has collected nine different vintage paper dolls. One is a face that you can change expressions on with different eyes, noses, and mouths. These are very cute too.
Doll Hospital dolls are taken from a story series by Joan Holub.
Each doll goes with a different story. You can download each one here: Marissa, Danielle, Glory, Goldie, and Tatiana.
Paper dolls from Karen's Whimsy
This doll has some great Victorian outfits. They are all in color. She has four nice hats too. A link at the bottom of the page takes you to even more dolls, then circus animals and crafts, then Christmas crafts that feature a decorated tree and garden. From there you are taken to some very old paper dolls with wrap-around dresses, then still more paper dolls!

Here are some paper dolls from Flickr

They are small on the lens - but you can enlarge them by clicking on them.

These paper dolls are posted on Flickr. If you want to use them, make sure to review each one and give the owner credit.

This child's game features a nursery with cut-outs that fit together into a nursery scene. It also has another link in it to another game.

These scenes are fun to look at and really free the imagination to see what life used to be like in Victorian times.

I know I will be back here to print out some of this. It's just wild. Think The Munsters or Dark Shadows. The things you make are little, but real-looking. You can make a neat display!!
The Paper Collector
This blog shows that somebody doesn't only have to collect paper dolls to collect ephemera, or paper stuff. There is so much to collect. It is so fun to look at other paper collectibles here.

Here are online pages that deal with Paper Dolls and other Paper crafts

I know I want to find out more about paper dolls and toys.

A great thing about paper dolls and toys is that they are inexpensive. Even if you decide you want to pay for them, they don't cost a lot. Of course, older paper dolls and toys do cost more than new ones, but since they are classified as ephemera, only some people collect them still, and you can still find good deals.

I am still learning about paper dolls and toys. Doing this lens was so fun... I found some really neat websites that I plan to go back and print out from.
(from the site) "Celebrating the Art and Fashion of Paper Dolls"
Professional paper doll artists and also amateurs are invited to join this group. I am not a member, but enjoy looking at the site.
Design your own paper dolls and clothes!
This About.com page explains how to make your own dolls and clothes. Cute!
Paper dolls from the SS42 site
I'm not sure where some of these paper dolls came from. There are some very original dolls here though. It was fun looking at them!
