Cover To Cover: Creative Techniques For Making Beautiful Books, Journals & Albums
Shereen LaPlantz single-handedly inspired my love of bookbinding and handmade books. This book has instructions that are simple enough for beginners and variations that are absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, Shereen passed away in 2003. It was a great loss to the community.

- Interesting Lens!
Especially the paper art.
Origami
Origami literally means "paper folding" in Japanese. Designs are created from folding paper in various ways. Origami typically uses square paper and requires no cutting, taping, or gluing, but there are a number of styles of paper folding that don't adhere to these rules. Sites Related to Origami and Paperfolding

- On Squidoo! Iris folding creates a wonderful pattern. Lisa Vollrath has some tools to help you get started.
- Joseph Wu's Origami Site
- Joseph Wu is no less than an origami genius. If you want to be either seriously intimidated or truely inspired, this is the site to visit. His galleries are truely amazing. The site also has links to several databases of diagrams, but most of his designs are for more advanced folders.
Origami Tessellations
Eric Gjerde provides plenty of eye candy in his blog that primarily focuses on tessellated origami designs. A tessellation is basically a repeating pattern of geometric shapes.

Origami for the Connoisseur
The models in this book are for advanced folders, but this is a must-have library addition for anyone who appreciates the artform.
The Joy of Origami
This book is missing some of the pure artistry of the advanced book, but it is much more accessible for beginners and the models will still impress.
Fabulous Origami Boxes
Tomoko Fuse is known for her beautiful origami art that is often quite functional. Origami boxes are typically "modular" meaning they require you to fold several pieces and then assemble them. This can be tricky, as the folds need to be very precise in order for everything to come together as intended. Beginners can do many of these projects, but patience will be required.
Origami Basics From Wikipedia
is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to create a representation of an object using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without gluing or cutting the paper, and using only one piece of paper.
Origami only uses a small number of different folds, but they can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. The most well known form is probably the Japanese paper crane. In general, these designs begin with a square sheet of paper whose sides may be different colors or prints. Contrary to most popular belief, traditional Japanese origami, which has been practiced since the Edo era (1603?1867), has often been less strict about these conventions, sometimes cutting the paper during the creation of the design.
