Paranormal Activity In Theaters Now!

This movie has no name actors, a director that no one has ever heard of, and the lowest budget since the "Blair Witch". Is it really worth the hype? I had never even heard of this movie until a few days ago. I'm a college student and there's not much to at night in the month of October. At this age I'm too old for hayrides, Six Flags is expensive, and Halloween movies are never any good. My friends and I went to a mid night showing of this movie just because it was convenient.

The movie seemed to start out as any other first person camera movie does. A little confusion and a shaky hand. They lead you in at a slow pace and explain the story background somewhat. The movie takes a little while to build on its' self with small startles in the beginning. The girl character is being haunted and her boyfriend is trying to film it for a record. The main chunk of the movie takes place at night in the bedroom. At first there are just noises and misplaced keys. As the movie goes on the mid night occurrences get weirder and more aggressive. I don't want to spoil too much of the movie so I'll let you know my review of it instead.

There was not a lot of thought to the movie. There was no secret twist or hidden meaning explained at the end. Even though, this movie proves that not to be important. They give you little special effects that are more than enough to make this movie a success. It was delightfully thrilling and charmingly eerie. The movie made people around me jump and the guy sitting next to me grabbed my arm at one point. Considering that this movie only comes out once a year I would recommend seeing it. It will put you in the perfect Halloween mood.
