When my grandparents passed away my mother inherited their house. My gandma passed away a couple of years before my grandpa and he told my mother that grandma was still in the house because he could hear her footsteps at night.

Well as fate would have it my wife got pregnant and the way our financial situation was at the time I couldn't refuse a free house. My mother told me about the footsteps and everything but that didn't bother me because it was my grandma and I thought living in a haunted house was cool.

The first night we stayed there my wife saw my grandma standing at the foot of our bed. This happened twice in the first couple of weeks. The footsteps were also there, the footsteps always go between the bathroom and the bedroom, and other stange things like the sudden smell of perfume or my favorite the smell of bacon frying. I also felt someone sit down on the bed beside me a few times.

My wife had the most exciting experience though. I was asleep and she was in the living room watching tv and she heard the bathroom door shut and heard footsteps. At first she thought it was me then realized that I was still in bed and that was when she saw a white mist drift through the kitchen doorway and go to the end of the bed and disappear. I've seen this mist only once and it was in the corner of the room and quickly disappeared.

My son, who is now almost 3, can't really relate if he's seen anything yet but we did have a strange thing happen with him saying his grandma was there and he kept pointing to a empty chair and saying she was there. My mother looks a lot like my grandma so that one's up for debate.

Why do we stay you're probably wondering. I believe that the ghost is my grandma and she's just here to watch over us and doesn't mean any harm.
