Your Guide to Great Paranormal Romance
Paranormal Romance is a recently revived genre that crosses over into several other genres including romance, horror, mystery and fantasy. Some of the best paranormal romance isn't found in the romance section of the bookstore! Many used bookstores have begun creating a separate section for paranormal romance for this reason.
Wikipedia describes the term paranormal as follows:
"According to the Journal of Parapsychology, the term paranormal describes "any phenomenon that in one or more respects exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to current scientific assumptions."
Paranormal Romance generally includes novels rooted in horror, fantasy, mystery or romance with a supernatural theme, wherein a romance comprises a significant portion of the plot. Paranormal romances can include vampires, witches, faeries, werewolves, ghosts, ESP, mythological beings, and other elements of the supernatural.
Featured Title: Living With the Dead by Kelley Armstrong

The ninth book in the Women of the Otherworld series, Living With the Dead is the second title in the series featuring Hope Adams, half-demon.
From Publishers Weekly
Bestseller Armstrong's newest will be greeted with warm enthusiasm by fans awaiting the return of the half-demon Hope Adams and her werewolf boyfriend, Karl Marsten. Hope's friend Robyn is mourning the recent murder of her good Samaritan husband, Damon, and trying to tolerate her job as a PR representative for Portia Kane, a tabloid celebutante. But when Portia is shot and Robyn becomes the prime suspect, she flees, only to find herself inexplicably in the middle of the supernatural world Hope has been trying to shield her from. Stalked by a psychopathic clairvoyant and tracked by the cop, John Findley, who happens to see dead people, Robyn is way out of her league. Armstrong's newest is definitely more accessible as a stand-alone than her previous ones, but still, without having read the rest of the series, it's a bit confusing. The characters are great: Adele is a very disturbing villain and Robyn's grief over the loss of her husband is touching. The conclusion, however, is less than satisfying, clearly setting up the next entry in the series. New readers would do better starting off with earlier books.

- Great lens. Although I'm supposed to be a tough guy, I've really become a fan of Laurell K. Hamilton and Christine Feehan. I'm not certain of the author's name, but I've also been enjoying The Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
