Books by and about park rangers.

Almost everyone who enjoys the out-of-doors has probably wished at one time or another that he or she could be a park ranger. It is a great career, but I can verify from personal experience that like any other, it does have its moments!

Read about the lighter side of work as a ranger in the book Hey Ranger! True Tales of Humor and Misadventure from America's National Parks. Details about this book are available at http://www.heyranger.com. The sequel, Hey Ranger 2 - More True Tales of Humor and Misadventure from the Great Outdoors, was released in May 2007.

If you wonder what could possibly go wrong on a trip to a nice, safe spot like a national park, the answer is - more than you could possibly imagine! The real-life characters in this book are everyday Americans whose trip to the park simply took an unexpected turn. While some of these folks have a narrow escape, eveyone survives in the end, and the result is fun, family-friendly reading that everyone from experienced outdoorsmen to armchair travelers can enjoy.

By the way, Hey Ranger 2 was one of the small number of books chosen by Barnes and Noble for their 2007 Father's Day Gift Guide - one of only about 250 titles out of the 1 million or so available through their on-line store, and Hey Ranger made that list in 2006. There's a pretty good recommendation from America's largest bookseller! However, these aren't  just books for guys - anyone who enjoys a good story told with humor should find plenty to enjoy in either book.

Several other books by or about park rangers are listed below under the "Amazon" module. To find out about the more serious side of "rangering," I hope you'll give them a try, too.
