- Parrots are really cool. I remember that when I was very young, a very, very old friend of my mother's (the lady was in her 80's) had a parrot who talked. His favorite thing to say was "Hide the beer - here comes the preacher"

- My grandfather gave a parrot to my grandmother's family as a courting gift. My great grandfather didn't care for the parrot much until the day a local preacher came by to try to convert everyone to his flock. After hours of tsermonizing, when the preacher was leaving, he said goodbye to everyone, including Polly--who said, as his very first words, "Go to hell." From that day forward my great grandfather made a special breakfast for Polly every morning.

- The funniest episode I ever had with a parrot was when I was staying at the Sheraton in San Salvador, El Salvador. Out by the pool they had a lot of parrots in cages, and every night when I was trying to get to sleep, all I could hear was "Hola, Hola" from the parrot cages.

- Awesome Lens. Parrots are the sort of bird that make you think twice about calling somebody a "birdbrain." Are you insulting the person or the bird? LOL.

- I had no idea the world is full of these intelligent parrots, I loved the amazon parrot and the common parrot. They are lovable and brilliant , adopting a pet for bird is good for both the foster parent and the bird.

- We had friends with a parrot that used to make the phone ring, and then answer it, and call out to our friend in his wife's voice that the phone was for him. I don't know how many times he went racing up to answer the phone and no one had called! Had a cockatiel that only ever did the wolf whistle in all different tones. Neat lens!
