Parrot Care Guide...

There are a couple of things that you need to know to properly take care of your parrot. First of all, you need to remember that parrots are fragile animals. They become stressed fairly easy, and this stress can lead to illness and in some cases death, if not handled properly. Just because parrots are birds does not mean that they want to eat birdseed ALL the time.

Parrots are VERY intelligent and have highly developed tastebuds. That being said, you have to feed them a very well balanced and well rounded variety of different foods that include:

Fresh fruits and vegetables

Seeds

Peanuts

Hard - boiled eggs

Carrots

The foods mentioned here are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to feeding your parrot a rich variety of different foods. You should think of the parrot as a member of the family, but with wings! You wouldn't feed your family the same things everyday, would you? Of course not! Then you shouldn't feed your parrot the same things all the time neither. A proper diet is just one of the things necessary in providing proper parrot care.

On top of a well balanced diet, you have to make sure that you provide a fresh clean supply of drinking water EVERYDAY! This fresh supply of drinking water is esssential to your parrot in so many ways. Along with providing themselves with proper hydration, the water also helps keep the parrots coat nice and shiny. Think of your parrots feathers like your own skin. If you don't get proper hydration and plenty of drinking water, your skin would be under nourished as well.

In the end, you must realise that parrots need exactly ALL the things that we as humans need, just on a smaller scale. you can worry about teachimg him to talk later. For now, your main focus should be providing proper parrot care, which includes a proper diet, a well maintained cage, and a suitable stress-free environment.
