You can make the decision by owning your own small business. You can't be 100% certain that you'll have a job to go to next week. Just pick up the paper, or turn on the t.v. and check out where the economy is heading.

It's a service business - which is the type of small business you should be looking at in today's economy. It has been called name-your-own-income in the cleaning industry. The Cleaning Market

Cleaners carry recession repellent

type=textA new report by Global Industry Analysis Inc. states that the contract cleaning market will continue to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 3.9 percent to reach $155.3 billion in the U.S. by 2010. Those are encouraging numbers, especially considering how frequent the term "recession" is being tossed around.

It requires very low upfront money to get this small business up and going. You can begin with $300 to $400. It's perfect and attractive to people who don't have a lot of funding. You can even do it as a side-business, because cleaning usually reguires after business hours. This allows you to keep your regular job. It is like having a part-time job but the difference here is you own the business, you are the boss, and you earn a profit for each job, not a low hourly wage.

License and Insurance

When your launching a cleaning business at first. It will be smart to go get your business license and insurance. Some people recommend to go get your few winning bids. Then get your license and insurance. What many people don't know is that some areas require a home occupation permit. To run a business out of your home. So check with your landlord or city hall and ask if its required or not. Some places will need one especially if you live in a apartment.

Here's a list of what you need:
*Business License
*Possibly Home occupation Permit
*Insurance
*Bonding

Who Are Your Prime Prospects?

Do you prefer several pay checks? Or a hourly wage?

type=textWhen looking for places to clean. Go straight to these prime prospects:

*New Offices under Construction
*Doctors Offices
*Dentist Offices
*Medical Facilities
*CPA Offices
*Real Estate Offices
*Stock Brokers Office
*Insurance Company Offices
*Daycare Centers
*Banks
*Small Office Buildings
*And many more

You'll never see a doctor, a lawyer, a dentist, an insurance agent, a real estate broker, a banker or a CPA emptying the trash cans in their place of business. They just don't do it, but they have the money to pay to have it done and that is exactly what they do. Their business is doing well and they can afford to hire and pay for a private cleaning service to come into their office on a regular weekly basis.

Benefiting From Your Competition

From one Cleaner to a Cleaner to Another Future Cleaner

Your competitors aren't out to ruining you, they're just trying to build their own business like you are, so don't treat them as enemies. treat them will, and in years to come, they'll probably end up working for you or with you. As someone once said, just when you think you're winning the rat race, the other rats will show up. Competitors will always be a fact of life.

That piece of advice I got from somebody. Has forever change the view of my compeptitors as an entrepreneur. And I believe it will do the same for you.

What do you think about the clapping lady?

great and informative lens.thanks for sharing this.Janitorial services are somehow time consuming and if one is not careful,it may actually run down the business.if we are to consider the risk and cost involved,we will all agree together that outsourcing is the best and the wisest way to cut cost.

I'm glad to see someone who had done cleaning as a business. Thanks for the comment.

The clapping lady did a quick coverage of the basic, odd that she didn't do another video without the claps, but now we know her as the clapping lady forever. My family had a cleaning business several years ago, there is no lack of work in cleaning for sure!
